I stood there whispering
Sweetly in his ear;
Murmuring drips of honey, I
Fingered the sweet steel, then
Dropped the dagger and laughed
At the blood on my hands.

Romeo watched with a glint in
His eyes, my grin widened and
We waltzed to a dangerous song.

Two weeks passed and it happened
Again; my heart grows weak and
My blood so thin.

“Why?” he asked; I shook my
Head. We walked to the
End of the earth, but I never
Told him, or his, or hers.
What now?
My mouth craves blood and
My veins, despair.

We can’t stop the ticking of the
Clock, nor can we change the plain white
Sheets. We watch and we wait,
We wait and we watch;
Mere bystanders on the trodden path of
Life.

I sank into the ground and breathed
In the damp Earth and
Air, watched the bubbles rise,
Causing me to scream and flail.

My heart beats
Blue and yellow, blue and yellow
Into the somber silence: a
Metronome, but only I can
Hear the melody.

What can I say? You’re a
Slut, a skank, a whore, so
Stop feeding off the innocent;
I laugh at the absurdities.

The process of elimination:
Wandering minds and pain without
Grief. What is the use of all
This flesh? It’s what’s
Inside that counts; so they
Say.

Even so, while some die in agony,
Others live without a soul.

*Hey all, hope you enjoyed this :D I wrote it as a post-modern piece, so it's a bit... fragmented. Anyway, positive feedback welcome :)*

Turn your demons into art, your shadow into a friend, your fear into fuel, your failures into teachers, your weaknesses into reasons to keep fighting. Don’t waste your pain. Recycle your heart.
