The Best Friend I've Ever Had...

Although I've only known you for 3 years,
It feels like a lifetime.
I will be here to wipe your tears,
and fight away all your fears.
You know I'm going to help you when things are tough,
and when things are hard and rough.
I've told you my deepest secrets, and you have told me yours.
Your my friend in life and death.
We have this bond it is so strong.
I have to say the things I cherish the most
Is the time we have spent together.
You're my best friend,
You're there from beginning to end.
To me you are the perfect friend.
You have been there through think and thin.
And I know you will stay till the end.
You turned my darkness into light.
You made everything right.
When I needed you most you were there,
Even when no one else cared.
Of all the friends I have met,
You are the one I will never forget.
If I die before you, I will wait for you in Heaven.
No matter what happens,
I'm going to be there till the end,
I want you to remember me as your best friend.

Hi Whitney,

This poem was really nice. I liked the idea of writing for your best friend. I was really interested as soon as I read the first couple of lines. But I have to say, my favourite lines were in the end:

whitneypaige wrote:No matter what happens,

It's exactly what best friends should be, there through everything.

Some of your ideas were quite commonly used like there through thick and thin and you turned my darkness into light. But you also added your own things and wrote it in such an order that it seemed new and different. I loved reading this and I think its a great poem!

Hey Whitney! :)

Okay! So, I have to admit... I've been the recipient of a best friend poem before, and I was tickled pink. So, if you give this to your best friend, s/he'll probably be very excited!

To make your best friend even more excited, consider adding a more personal touch. Right now, a lot of the things that you said are pretty generic. However, the cool thing about being best friends with someone is that you have a lot of inside jokes and everything. Try adding a few in there to remind your friend about all the wonderful moments that you've had together. I mean, obviously your best friend will be tickled pink by this poem. But s/he'll really smile when all these silly moments get brought up because, let's face it... it's the silly moments when joy enters our lives. :)

Best of luck, and I hope your best friend loves this poem! :D

Hey there, Whitney! This is Shooting Stars :D
The beginning caught my attention which is good. I loved that you were writing to your best friend! However, I noticed a few minor spelling errors and such but overall I enjoyed reading it! Like Snoink said, be sure to put more of YOU into the poem and add things special that you two do together. :)

Great work and keep writing!
