Whispering to those who did not know my name,
Screaming to the wind who didn't hear my call.
Shunning those who want to accept me,
Giving up on things that never gave up at all.
Hugging people who want to be kissed,
Kissing those who want to feel pain.
Running away from those who accept me,
Accepting things which are of great strain.
Throwing away things of great value,
Keeping those of no worth.
Staying with the reclusive,
Leaving people of great mirth.
Holding things which are slippery,
Letting go of sticky things.
I must let go of these treasures,
For at last, I can spread my wings.
Presence is a curious thing. If you need to prove you’ve got it, probably never had it in the first place. It’s not an ostentatious, adolescent display. It should be something effortless. Somebody once said: ‘The whisper is louder than the shout.’ Well amen to that.

I really like how the persona describes its anguish and how it needs to be set free of the bonds. A very nice and insightful poem with a lot of great lines in it. I can't think of any way that this piece can be better.
I like your writing style and hope to read more from you. Great job and keep the ink flowing :)
It's not about the weight of what's spoken.
It's about being heard.

I love this poem. Not only does it sounds good, but it's true. All the time people are addicted to wrong instead of right. Run away from things that shouldn't be ran away from. That was a clear and understanding poem and you wrote it well. Awesome job, looking forward to seeing more.
