This doesn't rhyme, even though I wanted it to at first. I think it might have ruined the outcome though...

It has all been done before,
every genre,
every style,
each idea,
worked.

Ideas are old, our generation new.
a new style,
a new genre,
new ideas,
created.

Yet as our ideas contradict the old;

Our generation grows old,
and our ideas old,
but a new genre
is born again.

Hmmm... I think that you have a good poem here. I think that you have a bit of a weird ending though. The repetition of 'old' doesn't fit there. I like it though... I don't normally read poetry!

I liked the idea a lot, but i think you could do a bit more with it.

It might be just me, (because you know my awesome sense of rhythm  ), but i think you rhythm is off. If it helps i could stand over your shoulder as you edit and chant, one and two and three and four and. No? That wouldn't help? Seriously I can if you want.

Okay since we know I'm no Peter i will move on. If you work on the wording a bit more this poem will turn out perfectly!

Hi Peanut! I'm Jon!

It has all been done before,

every genre,

every style,

each idea,

worked.

Try to change some of your words here. You say "Every" two times in this stanza. It would be okay if this stanza was longer, but, because of its length it becomes redundant. You can keep the idea the same, just use words that aren't the same in such a short stanza.

Ideas are old, our generation new.

Usually ideas are new, or, at least they should be. When I think of an idea I see brand new things. I would change the word 'Idea' to "Actions" It would make it sound better too! :D

a new style,

a new genre,

new ideas,

created.

New New New New! Once again, try to use some words that describe new things. For example: Shiny, Clean, Bright, or Crisp. Use all of the synonyms in your arsenal when trying to avoid word redundancy.

Those things were the only thing that I would have changed around a bit. I liked the concept behind this, just polish it up.

Maybe you could even expand on this idea, make it longer?

In anycase, good job.
