I wrote this because I wanted to write a poem with a descending number of syllables in each line that also made sense.
=P

Count Down

Anticipation gradually grows;
All eyes are looking at the launch pad.
As the countdown goes down, time slows.
Technicians hazmat suit-clad.
Ignition will come soon,
Just around the bend
Ship to the moon
Will ascend
Countdown
End

I think it was neat ^_^ I do request more punctuation though!

And I could just look hazmat up in the dictionary except I am lazy and also mozilla spell check doesn't pick it up. Is it a word?

If you could add more imagery, I think I wold enjoy this more. For a cute little test, it was neat.

HA! That was pretty good. Swift, to the point, blunt. I especially like the part about hazmat. Very good. Was it inspired by a lift off?

End :D .

It's an abbreviation for "Hazardous Materials"

=P I should search things more.

Maybe it is just that it isn't punctuated, but if I expand the line:

Technicians hazmat suit-clad

Technicians hazardous material suit-clad, etcetera

It still doesn't make much sense to me.

It isn't a complete sentence. And it is a term that is used. Hazmat suit. It's those big white things with tubes coming out of the neck that the police use when there's a biohazard scare. They use them at NASA to avoid contaminating things.

I tried this once a few years back and the format makes for a cute little poem. Your topic was much more original than mine though and the rhyming is a nice touch. Your punctuation seems to dwindle as you reach the end which makes it a little harder to read but that's easily fixed.

Clau: a hazmat suit is something officials wear when they have to deal with, of course, hazardous materials; in the context, it makes perfect sense. ^~

Rigel: I liked this! The descending syllable format worked well here, to my surprise; I'll admit that when I read your foreword I had my doubts. I'm glad you allayed them. ^^ I, too, think you're lacking something with the punctuation; I probably would have punctuated it like this:

Anticipation gradually grows;
All eyes are looking at the launch pad.
As the countdown goes down, time slows.
Technicians hazmat suit-clad.
Ignition will come soon--
Just around the bend,
Ship to the moon
Will ascend.
Countdown:
End

But that's just an idea. ^~

You must never give into despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road, and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.
