* This is a school assignment to let you know, and I just put it up for fun.*

The trouble with cats,
I'm afraid to say,
is that most like to sleep
all the livelong day.

Their food smells horrid,
their litterbox too,
and who'd want to sniff
that old box of poo?

They scratch the chairs,
they scratch the floor
three cats is enough-
I couldn't bear more!

They like to claw me through and through
and that is tearing up my jeans
and that cat doesn't mean it
with her eyes glittery green.

The trouble with cats,
I have to say,
is many things other than
sleeping the livelong day.

:D

I like it ^^ It was amusing, though there was something about the 3rd stanza that didn't seem quite right. It didn't sound the same in length when I read it, and it doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the poem.
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

The awkward thing about the third was the word "couldn't." And the fourth was a little long and didn't look too friendly on the eyes. Even so, it was a fun read. Nice work!

i'm amused.

the lines of the fourth stanza are too long, i'm sorry to say, and they barely squeeze into the regular rhythm and pattern. it's far too fat, for lack of a better term, and the way you returned to the old style afterward just...crushed it. sorry, love.

still cute.
Carpe Diem.

I much enjoyed it.

I'm one of those people that thinks the best name for a cat is "Target" so I got a kick out of the poem in general. Good for nothing animals...

Yes, morbid, I know. But still. Nice work. :D

This was a cute simple poem. Full of this little childish glow though, it reflects beautifully.
I loved it though :) I love cats still, so you can't change my mind.

oh, don't get me wrong! I love cats, but as an assignment in my Writing Class we had to write a poem about an animal, and I chose cat. And three is really enough cats for now!

Cats are awesome, but they can sometimes be a handful (I own two feisty cats and a 100 lb part-doberman...I speak from experience)
Howeever, they sometimes remind me of this smiley:

No, it's not that you didn't succeed. You accomplished a lot, but, if you want to touch people, don't concentrate so much on rhyme and metre. Think more about what you want to say instead of how you're saying it.
