Brigadier says...

The day is January 15th and the year is 1768.
It's the beginning period of the American Revolutionary War and Jeremiah "Macy" MacKinley has been a captain in the newly formed naval division of the Continental Forces for exactly seven days. Their time in the Royal Navy was quickly overshadowed by the overwhelming responsibility and the newly painted letters on their office door.
Macy had kept their identity and their feelings separate from their work for a long time - since they had been a teenager - with a few dalliances that rarely crossed their mind.
Beyond the war, their life was settling. That was until Burgess Richard Henry Lee walked into the Captain's office and asked for their assistance.
One thing Macy could be thankful for was their position behind a desk when the Burgess walked into their office with brown curls hanging to his sweaty temple, his collar unbuttoned and the cape hanging loose around his shoulders. When the politician leaned over, it was more than the appendage in the sailor's pants could stand.
The request for assistance wasn't bad, not with Lee being forwarded from Washington himself with an espionage plot, but the close quarters for the 200 mile journey by horseback were going to be hell on Macy's laundry.
