erm... I am a punk at heart, really, and I have been looking around for some new bands to listen to and such. Kind of a broad question, but who do you like, punk wise?

on my list -

Descendents
The Briggs
Flogging Molly
Bad Religion
The Misfits
Pennywise
Goldfinger
Anti-Flag
Causualities
The Clash
Social Distortion
The Donnas
Dropkick Murphys

(and some others, who's names I can't remember...)

:D Flogging Molly makes me happy!

You call Arctic Monkeys punk ... how and why??

The Clash
The Jam
Dropkick Murphys are somewhat good from what my friend has let me listen to.

Otherwise, I like punk, but have never really explored it so much. The Clash are my favourite band of all time though.

Hekategirl, punk is more of "I dont care how the f*ck I look or act" kind of music genre, basically rock with more...spunk.

Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedys are awesome.

I like The Clash (how can you not?) and ^them...and they're the only two I've heard of off that list...though I've probably HEARD the music.

Here are some good punkers:

The (International) Noise Conspiracy
Bouncing Souls
Masters of Reality
The Ramones (hello people, why have they NOT been mentioned yet?)
Rancid, one of my favourite punk bands of all TIME.

. . . and that's all I can think of right now.

P.S. Completely off topic, but it needs to be said: 'emo' is the most ridiculous label I have ever heard in my life. How can you define what is emo, really? I mean, come ON, that's like saying if you emote in any sort of way, which is HUMAN, btw, you are labeled as 'emo'. I just think the entire thing is ridiculous. But, what ever, if we didn't have labels, how could we ever distinguish ourselves from eachother?  (Yes, that was sarcasm people.)
