http://www.urbis.com

I suggest you folks all check this site out. It is an absolutely perfect writing site that won't let you read peoples reviews if you don't review other peoples.
It's all based on credits and you get credits when you review, or comment, or refer people - and you spend them to see what people think of your work.

It's awesome.
And if you don't ever see me here again... Thats why.

Join the revolution.

I think I'll stick with YWS.

I'm reluctant to join any site that I can't examine first.

It looks very confusing and isn't there a word limit on there? You can't really help them as much as on here can. To be honest, this site is better. It has EVERYTHING! XD

There are no word limits, and all that site does is encourage critiquing.
I'm not trying to kill off YWS but you guys have to understand that your all friends here, and very rearely are there strangers coming on and getting/giving any feedback.
Meh, I figured you were all to stuck in your ways.
Uptight? Don't make me laugh.

Better to be stuck to your ways than the guy who has already said he was "leaving" once ... have fun, or whatever.

Looked into it, and it does look alright. But, it's also been done before, and I doubt that site will still be online two years from now. One of the big problems is the total lack of community; there's not even a private messaging system. My big aim with YWS was not really to create a writing site, but to create a community of young writers.

But even as a pure writing site, I would suggest writing.com before I suggested urbis.com. While the former is not a pure writing site, you're pretty much guarenteed of a review within an hour and you still have the community aspect there. Plus, it's just a lot more interesting to go there.

Thanks, for showing it to us, Rincewind. But I think most of us are happy with this site and we'd rather work here to get more people to critique, than to completely abandon this forum.

He's right, though, I believe. As a strict "writing site," it's one of the best sites out on the net -- yes, better than YWS. While YWS may be considered a "writing site" on a lot of levels, it's also a "social site."
