Fantastic Fantastic.....honestly beautifully shot, very very well directed (I expected that from City of God) and thought provoking. Anyone else seen it?
Yes, I saw it last week. Very thought provoking, I am now reading the book. The filming was captivating, as you said Midnight. I haven't seen City of God yet, though I want to.
I am suprised no one else has seen it, or posted anything here.

I don't like leaving my country Doug, and I especially don't like leaving it for anything less then sandy beaches, and cocktails with little straw hats.
Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary ***king Poppins... LONDON.
Gave it a rent. Certainly didn't blow me away but it's refreshing to see these kinds of movies (i.e. politically charged, intellectually stimulating) enjoying success in the United States.
No way. I freaking loved this movie. Best one I've seen in a long time. Makes me sad it's not up for more Oscars. Actually...is it up for any? None of the important ones, right?

Well, Rachel Weitz is the favorite for Supporting Actress--I really hopes she wins. This movie was excellent-I remember coming out of the movie theater feeling like I should DO something.
Perhaps she does. I really wanted to see Junebug but it wasn't playing anywhere near. I just really liked Rachel Weitz's performance, and compared to the other actors I had seen, I thought she was the best.
Well, Rachel Weisz won. Congrats to her. She did a good job. Of course I didn't see ANY of the other movies, so I can't compare.
