Mods and Admins are people, not big scary monsters who are out to get you. XD

For those who are intimidated: Mods/Admins are just like you, for the most part.


What I think makes a Mod/Admin *Appear* frightning:


Well, when you first join the site you learn very quickly that Mods can lock things and tell you not to do things. That establishes a rule-enforcer type person in the person's head. Plus, you're all dark green and solid! What a scary color to new members!


To fix this problem: This will take the Mods and Admins to do it. It will take more than welcoming some new members here and there.

(the Instructors are trying to improve their image to the site, so, why not the Admins/Mods?)
Not saying that you aren't good images...

Anyway! I guess to some people it would be a little intimidating. So, get more open to the newer members in some way. Make them realise that you are normal people. (Some just don't get that, I spose')


Since Heather posted this, she obviously thinks that some members are afraid to ask them for anything. (Or talk to them.)


Well, I suggest making a "How To Make The Mods Seem Normal And Not Scary" in the mod forum and have you guys (Mods/Admins) post ideas to do that.

Not that I've really done anything to make them mad... yet. XD They just intimidate me, because they're such amazing writers... It makes me nervous. XD

Don't take it personally, though, mods. I'm also scared of noobs, and n00bs, and regulars... basically, I fear sentinent beings. XD

Well, kind of. It's more like I'm afraid of doing something wrong, and the fear is heightened even more when Mods or Admins are around. I'm mainly afraid to bother them about something that I'm not sure is that important.

Anyway, yes, mods scare me. Everytime I look in the mirror I scream and wet myself. It's quite embarrassing, actually.

The mods are just as scared of you as you are of them. Actually, that's probably not true. I make a lovely mod stew though.

By the way, most of the time when people start their PMs with, "I'm not sure this is important, BUT..." it usually is super important. So don't let it stop you. We like getting bugged.
