Don't think there's a topic posted about this already... or, rather I hope there isn't.

I want y'all to post up your killer playlists (lists of songs you can organise, add to and burn on to a CD, in case anybody didn't know). Whether they're themed, random, or just a list of your fave songs, post 'em up! I figure it'll be a good way to hear about some new artists, and also help you out if you're stuck with what to add. I'll start off, since that was probably not very well worded.

I call this one Best of Air Guitar:

1. Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams (Green Day did a cover of this, and it's pretty good, but the original rocks. This is one of me favourites. Get it. Now.)
2. More Than A Feeling - Boston (One of those songs you've heard before but didn't know who sang it. Well, now you do.)
3. Whatever You Want - Status Quo (This one's all right, but it can get VERY boring VERY fast.)
4. The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzie (Awesome song that makes you want to dance!)
5. Teenage Kicks - The Undertones (One word: w00t.)
6. You Will You Won't - The Zutons (REally groovy song you should have heard before.)
7. Here I Go Again - Whitesnake (Amazing song you gotta listen to; me thinks Green Day got the whole Boulevard Of Broken Dreams thing from it. If you didn't like that one, listen to this. If you did, listen to this. If you're indifferent, listen to this.)
8. Wild Thing - The Troggs (If you haven't heard this before, I suggest you come out from under your rock and give it a try.)
9. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf (Ditto.)
10. Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters (Pretty cool, and bloody catchy.)
11. Photograph - Def Leppard (In a nutshell: a cool rock song that'll stick in your head.)
12. Wipe Out - The Surfaris (Psychadelic 60's surf rock, again, you must have heard this at some point.)
13. Walk Don't Run - Ventures (More surf rock with that great 60's-style slide guitar.)
14. Hit Me With Your Best Sho - Pat Benatar (One of the catchiest songs ever, guaranteed to be one of your faves.)
15. Walk This Way - Run DMC & Aerosmith (Unexpected yet awesome duo.)
16. Addicted To Love - Robert Palmer (This one'll seem familiar, and it's rather cool; great for listening to while your're lazing around)
17. I Want It All - Queen (One of my all-time favourite Queen songs; a classic everyone should have in their collection.)
18. Song 2 - Blur (WOO-HOO!)
19. (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) - The Beastie Boys (This totally kicks ass and it'll have you head-banging before you know it.)
20. You Really Got Me - The Kinks (Fabulously catchy; one of those songs that sticks in your head every so often and you keep humming it at school untl your friends hit you... or maybe that's just me. :P)

Classic rock anthems :) \m/

EDIT: Gave y'all some comments because everyone else is doing it!

And this is what it takes me to get through my homework (about two hours worth, usually :P. not that much, but it makes your brain hurt! Hehehe...) Ooh, and since I just realized what Harlz said about the learning about new bands...I shall rate these too! Yay!

1. Disappearing Boy- Green Day (Perfect air-guitar song. It's about as anti-Boulevard of Broken Dreams as you can get, so if you hate that song you'd love this one :P)
2. Dance, Dance- Fall Out Boy (Groove! And it'll get stuck in your head...If you liked 'Sugar, We're Goin' Down' somewhat, this one is even better.)
3. Boys and Girls- Good Charlotte (I might be the only one who finds it hilariously funny, but there you go. 'Girls with their bodies like boys with their Ferraris'...WARNING: Can get quite a bit annoying after awhile...:P)
4. Welcome To Paradise- Green Day (Very cool song. Good lyrics, and a funky bass guitar line...groove factor of 'Holiday' but not as popular.)
5. Born To Be A Dancer- Kaiser Chiefs (You really have to like the Kaiser Chiefs sound...the piano cords are very cool though. And this will get stuck in your head as well. :P)
6. Immigrant Song- Led Zeppelin (If you like older music, I would suppose...his voice is so different...can't really compare. Cool song though.)
7. She- Green Day (Absolutely AWSOME lyrics. Again, if you like the Green Day sound but not the popularity of it, this is a good one to try.)
8. My Generation- The Who (Like the Beatles, but slightly edgier. So, if you like the Beatles, you'd like this. If you haven't heard this song...YOU SHOULD...*poke*)
9. Californication- The Red Hot Chili Peppers ( If you like the Coldplay softness and Green Day punk-y lyrics, you'd like this. The lyrics are really cool, but it's nice and slow and puuuuurdyful...)
10. Live Forever- Oasis (Sounds a whole lot like Extraordinary Girl, by Green Day. So if you like that one, you'd probably find this one pretty cool too.)
11. Paperback Writer- The Beatles (One of those that you've heard many a time but never realized who sang it...)
12. Champagne Supernova- Oasis (If you like Coldplay, you'd like this.)
13. Westbound Sign- Green Day (One of my favorite songs of all time. Cool lyrics. Very punk-y. If you can't stand Green Day, you'd obviously hate it, but I loooooove it...)
14. Under The Gun- The Killers (The lyrics are very good. A pretty song overall, I think it's universal, too.)
15. Morning Glory- Oasis (Warning: ADDICTING! This is the fourth replay of it in a row that I'm listening to it now...:P)
16. Helena- My Chemical Romance (Not many people like this song, but I dooooo...you have to be prepared for uber-weirdness though. Hehe.)
17. Drive- Incubus (I'll bet you five bucks you've heard it. :P It's pretty catchy, not the best song ever written, but if you're an alt rock geek I'd definitely recommend it.)
18. The Anthem- Good Charlotte (This was on the Pacifier, so if you've seen that movie, you've heard it. Very cool, but you have to like Good Charlotte somewhat or it's just annoying. :P I looove it though...)
19. Reject- Green Day (If you liked the song American Idiot, you'd like this. It's in basically the same calibre...not as political though. I think this is where the All-American Rejects got their name from...but, hehe, I won't get into that now...)
20. I Will Follow You Into The Dark- Death Cab For Cutie (Very well written, pretty song. If you like more tame stuff, or just like to broaden your horizons a bit (:P) this is uber-cool.)
21. All The Time- Green Day (About as Green Day-ish as you can get. Very cool. WARNING: Will get stuck in your head. Hehehe)
22. Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll- The Killers (If you like indie rock, you'll appreciate the song. :P Very cool. Kind of annoying at first, but it really grows on you.)
23. Brighter Than Sunshine- Aqualung (Even the iTunes dudes said to try it if you liked Coldplay- and it's true. :P Very good song.)
24. Lonely For Her- Jack's Mannequin (If you like Fall Out Boy, you'd definitely love 'em.)
25. The Ballad Of Michael Valentine- The Killers (Very cool song, I'd recommend it to ANYONE pretty much...)
26. Wonderwall- Oasis (One of those that you've heard but didn't know who sang it. Another very cool one. If you like Death Cab For Cutie and the Killers, you'd probably like this one too.)
27. Jesus of Suburbia- Green Day (This is my favorite song of all time. AH-MAZING...you don't even really have to like Green Day to enjoy it somewhat, the lyrics are...just...awesome...*dies*)
28. All These Things That I've Done- The Killers (If you like stuff with more of a bluesy, soulsey groove to it, you'd definitely like it.)
29. Burnout- Green Day (Quintessential Green Day. One of their best ones, I think...will also get stuck in your head! :P)
30. The Dark of the Matinèe- Franz Ferdinand (If you like more of a vintage-y sound, you'd definitely love this. Doesn't sound a whole lot like 'Take Me Out' so I can't really analogize it in any way...but very cool nonetheless.)
31. Clint Eastwood- the Gorillaz (If you like the hip-hop sound but hate rap...rap...then you like it. You've probably heard it before too..very cool. Groove factor is off the chart.)
32. The Judge's Daughter- Green Day (Cheesy love song...done Green Day style. Very cool, lyrics rock. You can also do air guitar to it! YAY! I don't know...I just love it because you can really relate to it. TRÈS AWESOME!)

Sophie, when you're finished, post it up; i have a few sad song playlists; whoever said listening to happy songs when you're really depressed obvuiously didn't try it out themself. Sad songs make me feel better.

I'd have these songs on one CD:

Midnight - The Kritz (this is a local band and you won't find their music on the net :( )
Day and Night - MayaFlyer
Bitter Sweet Symphony - The Verves
Breathing - Settle
Frogs and Princes - Natasha Bedingfield
Hey Papa - Alex Catarna
Secrets - Living Space
Who We Fight - Finest Grain
Wires - Athlete

That's pretty much it.
In all the time we have
There is never enough time
To show what is in our heart.

I call this....

Infectious Pop-Rock

1. Monkeywrench - Foo Fighters (one last thing before I quit I never wanted anymore than I could be fit into my head I still remember every word that you said and all the s**t that somehow came along with it) - Fantastic record. Catchy with great lyrics.

2. Still Waiting - Sum 41 ( so am I still waiting, for this world to stop hating, can't find a good reason, can't find hope to believe in) - Classic pop-punk-record song...shouty, fast, fabulous.

3. Sorry - The Paddingtons ( I said I'm sorry! hope you're feeling happy now, hope you're feeling happy now, I am gone! ) Simple lyrics and idea, but full of energy...I lurvve this song.

4. Oh Yeah - The Subways - Get it. Now.

5. First Comes First - The Paddingtons ( take your gun out, pull the trigger, and now you know I've never been bigger ) - Fan-friggin-tastic.

6. Hometown Strategies - Kubichek - I love this song because it changes through different styles yet still holds true to that fast, danceable tuneage.

7. Teenage Kicks - The Undertones - If you haven't heard this, go commit suicide now.

8. Ever Fallen In Love - Buzzcocks - Likewise. A must for any collection. Too true and too good to be true.

9. Helicopter (Whitey remix) - Bloc Party - The original was good, this remix is better.

10. I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor - Arctic Monkeys - Great band name and a great singer who makes wry, clever comments in his songs and this just makes you want to look amazing on the dancefloor.

11. The Fallen - Franz Ferdinand - ( some see a troubled boy, just because he likes to destroy all the things that bring the idiots joy, what's wrong with a little destruction? - Indiedance gods are back with this ferociously good song...more catchy than an Ian Bell edge to second slip.

12. Loser - The Paddingtons - Great to sing along to. Cool. Fits perfect in here.

13. Walk Idiot Walk - The Hives - The Hives are possible the craziest band ever, they're Swedish like Abba but you'd never know because these guys can actually make music that doesn't sound like it was born in a karaoke machine...

14. Mirror Kissers - The Cribs - *salivates* The guitar riff...the lyrics...the dancing...the gig...the...the Cribs are amazing. My favourite modern band.

15. Teaching Me To Dance - DARTZ! This has a pointless guy who can't play saxophone in it (he dresses like a terrorist at gigs and no one knows his name) but this song is like dance and rock falling together in holy matrimony in one song...my god I sound like an NME journalist. Shoot me now.

16. Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt - We Are Scientists - WAS are cool. Listen some.

17. Riot Radio - The Dead 60's - It has one of those guitar riffs that sounds like a song in itself. 'Nuff said.

18. With You - The Subways - Teenage adolescent passion-angst translated into guitars and shouty lyrics and the female guitarist is gorgeous.

19. Decent Days and Night - The Futureheads - Officially the most catchy song in the world. According to me.

20. Don't Look Back Into The Sun - The Libertines - One of my most favourite songs everrrr. Just FANTASTIC.

21. I Fought The Law - The Clash NEEDED MONEY 'COS I HAD NONE! I FOUGHT THE LAW AND THE LAW WON! See number 7 for appropiate comment.

22. Feel The Machine - The Chalets - Irish pop-rock-computery stuff.

Mwahahaha.

Anyway!

YAY! New list.

The Art Of Rocking Out
(Lots o' Green Day...as they are the essential rock-out band :P)

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band- The Beatles- Ooooh, very cool. Listen to it. NOW!
My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down- The Ramones- Ah, also very cool. 'Twill get stuck in your head though if you don't watch out...
Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy Tonight?- Fall Out Boy I believe It's better 'n Sugar, We're Goin Down, so if you like that one, check it out. (A lot of their stuff sounds basically the same...so yeah. But still rawkin'. :P)
Welcome to Paradise- Green Day WHEE!!! Such an awesome song. The '92 version (in my opinion) is better for rocking out since it's faster, but I guess it's all a matter of taste. :P
The Anthem- Good Charlotte DON'T WANNA BE JUST LIKE YOU!! Hehe. So fun, so fun...can get rather annoying though, so enjoy the grooving while you still can.
Only Of You- Green Day Seriously, any song on this album is just awesome. Air guitar all the way! (Vair, vair old-school-ish punk. Sam likes.)
The Magnificent Seven- The Clash I'm sure Jack will agree- it just plain rocks.
Holiday- Green Day CAN I GET ANOTHER AMEN?!?! The only popular-ish song I like. 'Tis cool.
Today Is The Day- Apollo Sunshine Well today is your day, so something something...today is your day...SO IF THAT GRASS LOOKS FUN TO ROLL IN, ROLL IN THAT F-ING GRASS! LOOK AT THAT BIRD HE CAN FLY DON'T YOU WISH YOU COULD FLY? Hehe. Great song. Perfect wake-up call.
Geek Stink Breath- Green Day The most awesomely awesomEST rock out song EVERRR. If you haven't heard it...*shifty eyes*
Mirror Kissers- The Cribs Vair cool. Bounce off the walls-ish...very, very addicting. :P
40'- Franz Ferdinand Groooooove factor is off the chart. I don't know...there's just something about it...:P
Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana I FEEL STUPID! AND CONTAGIOUS! HERE WE ARE NOW! ENTERTAIN US!!!!! Cool song all the way through.
Fearless- The Bravery Funkay song. And very addicting...:P
Get Back- The Beatles One of those songs that every time you hear it you jump up and have total groove-time...
Morning Glory- Oasis Cool band. Cool lyrics. Cool guitar line. What more couldja want?
Song 2- Blur THANK YOU HARLZ! 'Tis a very good song...if you haven't checked it out yet...*POKE*
Haushinka- Green Day Very addicting. I always start tapping out the drum part every time it comes on...:P Stuck In Your Head Factor- 890. On a scale of one to ten...
I Predict A Riot- Kaiser Chiefs COOL! Nobody here [as in Nebraska] as ever heard of it before *sob*. So don't deprive yourself of good music...LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN...
This Fffire- Franz Ferdinand THIS FIRE IS OUTTA CONTROL! GONNA BURN THIS CITY! BURN THIS CITY! Make a dork of yourself singing it to yourself during math class... C'mon, you know you wanna! Hehe.
Hello- Oasis Funky song. One o' me favorites...:D
Everything Is Alright- Motion City Soundtrack They sound very much like Fall Out Boy, so if you like 'em, check this one out. Very cool.

And I saved the best for last...:P

Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?- Green Day *basks in the awesomeness* Have to turn it all the way up and rock out...it's just too cool for us mortals...:PThe chorus is just too awesome...*nostalgic sigh*
