Me and my friends have been posting lists of film quotes and getting each other to guess them. It's kind of fun, so I thought I would post my first list here. My friends didn't manage to guess 9 of them lol There are 20 in all, we shall see how you do!
I rated it PG-13 because there is swearing in some of the quotes but I stared out the middle bits.
Here we go...
1 - You know, taking us for ice creams in a blizzard... makes you wonder who the real whack jobs are.
2 - I'm a joke. I'm the guy who chases Looney Tunes.
3 - What's in a name, anyway? That which we call a nose by any other name could still smell.
4 - I know I shall be homesick for you even in Heaven.
5 -The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.
- What are we holding onto, Sam?
- That there's some good in this world... and it's worth fighting for.
6 - There are two things in life I hate-heights and jumping from them.
- Come on, I'll catch you.
- God save my little broken body.
[Jumps and falls to the ground.]
- Missed.
- Oh wait- I forgot my jellybeans.
[Slides through the bars to retrieve them, and returns through the bars, whilst being stared at by the other character]
- What?
- You can fit through those bars?
- Yeah.
- You are such an idiot.
7 - My sister cried alot. You wonder how I recognize you? Some people - just a handful, mind you - give off the tiniest color. It's faint. Like a haze. It's the only thing I ever see in the darkness. Papa has it, too. Do you wonder what your color is? Well, that I won't tell you. It's not ladylike to speak of such things. You shouldn't even have asked.
[pause]
- You run like a boy.
8 - And you can tell Rolling Stone magazine that my last words were... I'm on drugs!
[crowd cheers]
- Russell! I think we should work on those last words!
- I got it, I got it. Last words - I dig music.
[a few claps]
- I'm on drugs!
[crowd cheers]
9 - Well, well. Here we are. You have exactly eight hours and fifty-four minutes to think about why you're here. You may not talk, you will not move from these seats. Any questions?
- Yeah. Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?
10 - Look, Daddy. Teacher says, every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.
- That's right, that's right. Attaboy, Clarence.
11 - This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
- Define "interesting".
- [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
12 - I'd like to dedicate this to my grandpa, who showed me these moves.
- Aww, that is so sweet.
[Audience applauds]
- Is he here? Where's your grandpa right now?
- In the trunk of our car.
13 - God tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he's pretty sure you're f**ked.
14 - Werewolf!
- Werewolf?
- There.
- What?
- There, wolf. There, castle.
- Why are you talking that way?
- I thought you wanted to.
- No, I don't want to.
- [shrugs] Suit yourself. I'm easy - Young Frankenstein - Haruno Sakura
15 - I gotta have an out-of-body-experience, and I gotta have it RIGHT NOW!
16 - Adam, you’re my eldest brother. Now I've always looked up to ya, tried to ape ya. But today I'm ashamed of you. Now I know you can lick me, lick the tar outta me! But I wouldn't hold myself no kinda man unless I showed ya how I felt!
[punches him]
17 - Who's that?
- [exasperated] Who's that? Who else would it be? It's me!
- Are... are you my conscience?
- [sighs] Yes, I'm your conscience. We haven't spoken for a while. How are you?
- Eh, can't complain.
18 - So, my sister and Robbie were never able to have the time together they both so longed for... and deserved. Which ever since I've... ever since I've always felt I prevented. But what sense of hope or satisfaction could a reader derive from an ending like that? So in the book, I wanted to give Robbie and Cecilia what they lost out on in life. I'd like to think this isn't weakness or... evasion... but a final act of kindness. I gave them their happiness.
19 - I feel like I'm Han Solo, and you're Chewie, and she's Ben Kenobi, and we're in that f**ked-up bar.
20 - Do you know why you're afraid when you're alone? I do. I do.
Have fun! Post your guesses and I'll tell you if you are right. No cheating and going on google!
