Yes, as an orator he certainly delivered. As a president, he hasn't even started so personally, I think everyone - literally everyone, those expecting good and praising him and those heaping criticism and negativity on him - should just shut up and let the man do his job. That's my two cents anyway :p

(...was I the only morbid one expecting an assassination attempt or something equally terrible? So glad it went smoothly :p)

Yeah, Jigs, you were the ONLY one. Why else do you think they surrounded it with bulletproof glass? XD

xD Silly by "it" I meant the balcony thing he was standing on.

If he keeps his promises (I don't doubt that he will) he will certainly make a good president.

I'm a big fan of Obama [as, you Americans will discover, is most of the world outside your borders, especially compared to... well, yeah], and I thought his speech was good, but it nor quite as sizzling as some Inaug. speeches I've seen. Mind you, the man always has had a sense of unflappable calm about him, hasn't he?

Looking forward to the immediate future of American politics, and there's something I haven't been able to say since I stopped watching The West Wing.

I meant literally unfold before your eyes on the screen, psh.

So mean, June.

Not cool.

I thought I might have gotten out during lunch (I had lunch right during the affirmation. I used affirmation because swearing doesn't sound right).
Anyway, they wouldn't let me get out to see it. (can you believe that!!!)

So I went to my history teacher and begged him if I could watch it.

We watched the affirmation instead of taking the test.

Oh yeah! :D

He did mess up. It was the judge's fault that Obama messed up.

Ha ha. DC suburbs got out of school (we can't get anywhere, all the roads are closed).

I stayed home all day. ^_^

Haha, I was a big baby and cried through the speech.

Now he can get to work and do a good job, if only to get rid of all the passive-aggressive flair on Facebook. (Obamunism? Really? That's hilarious, and very, very original...)

Oh, yeah. They set up a TV in the library at my school and I missed bio lab and part of lunch to watch Obama's oath and speach. Really, 'twas quite moving. Gotta love him.

I watched it at school. Personally, I don't really want anything to do with politics and know pretty much nothing about it. But the only thing that keeps me from really supporting him as president is the view he has on abortion.

I agree with Clo!

Our school didn't watch it. Well, I do live in the south, full of stupid racist people. I know all the ladies in the office are a bit racist.
I think my principal and supervisor is too.

Which isn't cool...it's a inauguration. It doesn't matter who, it's just a big day!

I still have yet to watch the rest. But Michelle Obama's dress was pretty!

Sam>> You weren't alone in your crying, I assure you. I'm a weenie when it comes to Obama, and was with you lol.

Blink>> The oath goof was actually a little odd. The guy (who has a name, that I have sudden forgotten what was) telling Obama what to say actually said it wrong. Being that Obama was standing in front of 982392839283928 people with the rest of the world watching from home, I'm sure he was already nervous, and was probably just caught off guard with the incorrect oath phrasing. But, it was still kind of funny. Although, Obama probably does not think so.

I cried as well. That speech was great and he just have this calm, serious but understanding feel to him and I can tell that he's going to be a good president but we should not make assumptions now. We may be on the road to change, but we have yet to recover.

And, yes, I agree with Clo, I love my country and my president. He and his wife are so cute together and it was nice when they danced at the Inaugural Ball.
