I know no one actually keeps theirs, but it's fun to hear, no? Mine are as follows:

1. Read at least one chapter of a book a day.

2. Write at least 500 words of any story a day.

3. Write at least one critique a day.

4. Go to church at least 3 times a month.

5. Work out at least 5 times a week.

6. Smile daily. :)

Your turn!

I always fail my resolutions. xD But here I go again! =D

1.) Review more often. I found myself not critiquing as much since school started, and that, my friends, is a sin. I shall mend the situation soon enough!

2.) Finish my novel, edit it, and get ready for the next one in the series for NaNo. This is an epic series I have if all goes well, and I am determined not to give up this time.

3.) Get the Dark Knight.

4.) Not eat as much chocolate, for heaven's sake. xD I've eaten so much the past few months... It's a little ridiculous.

5.) Be more organized. I don't know how I got so messed up at the end of last semester. I thought I was going to die. @_@
I make my own policies.

:P Apparantly, the chocolate is gone because I ate it all on Christmas so I know what you mean, Jabber.

I always forget about mine but here I go:

1. Work on getting all of this stuff in my head worked out.

2. Review. I've been wanting to get my forth star since August but I've been lazy.

3. Find a balance between being stressed and being lazy. I need to find the medium.

4. Jabber's number five; I'm bad with being organized.

5. Get my grades up enough to pass the semester (and finals, of course).

That's all I can think of but I may come back and edit this later. :)

Eating less chocolate is a silly resolution. Life is too short to skimp on chocolate. :D

I actually did a decent job on my resolutions last year, but sort of put things like writing and journaling on hold for a few months while I went through basic training and survived my first few months at West Point...

So! New Years resolutions.

- Write in my journal every day, no matter how short the entry.
- Write something everything (fiction-wise), no matter how short or crappy. Something's always better than nothing.
- 280 on my spring APFT (so at least 42 push-ups, 78 sit-ups, and another huge improvement on my run time... doable).

Ooers, I could do the sit-ups and the push-ups (the latter with a lot more effort) but never succeed with the running. :) Good luck!

And yes. Chocolate = ftw. Stop being healthy guys! Eat just as much chocolate, just maybe work out a tad more. Then it's all good - you get exercise and yummy/happy-making chocolate! :)

I tend to make huge resolutions and not be able to finish them. This year I did do what Areida wants to do; write in my journal everyday. I did miss a few days though xD. And I wanted to learn a new language... and try a whole lot of different stuff. And be a different person. And run a few marathons. I did most of them.

Anywho. For 2009. I plan to not make my list way too long.

Finish three novels.

Become a better writer.

(Lame. That's all that's all that's important to me.)

Get better grades: don't procrastinate!
Be more outgoing. I'm a shy little thing, time to get over it!
Lose 8 pounds. I'm vain, what can I say?

I have no choice but to keep most of mine. :P In order of easiest to hardest:

-- Get AA degree

-- Actually apply for things (schollarships, more colleges, etc. and more than I currently am.)

-- Complete my first quarter at a new college with 3.04 GPA or higher.

-- Learn Latin and become completely fluent in ASL

-- Write my novel

-- Animate something from YWS using my new studio. (This one may very possibly roll over to the new year of 2010, so maybe finish it mostly by the end of '09) ;)

-- Be alive to celebrate the last minutes of '09

So sad. This new year is going to be the last one we'll get to refer to as '0_. We had '01, '02, '03... and frankly, '010 doesn't have the same ring to it. Ah well. Out with the old, in with the new, right? Number five will be iffy, but I'm almost certain that the rest will be completed. :)

I'm pretty sure you meant '10, not '010, Dreamer darling. :D

Okay. Here goes.

In 2009, I, Demeter, promise to:

1. Review at least twice a week. And get at least two blue stars.

2. Keep my room clean so I don't have to clean it ever again!

3. Write something, anything, every day and improve as a writer. (This is not two resolutions! It's one!)

4. Start planning what to give people for Christmas before December 20.

5. Try my best at everything I do.

6. Do NaNo?

7. Study more for tests and exams.

8. Get a summer job.

Thus far, nothing else. It's going to be hard, I tell you... ;) I'll come back with some edits if I come up with other resolutions.

XD That's the point! Oh-ten just doesn't sound as good as Oh-nine, or any of the other Oh's. *sighs* Jan. 1st, 2010 will be a sad, sad day. :(

So! Enjoy Oh-Nine! For it is the last year any of us are likely to see in which we can say it's the year Oh-____!

(We're gonna sound real old to our kids and grandkids, you realize? "I recollect it was back in the year Oh- Five-- no, no, it was Oh-eight, yeah, Oh-eight that Obama was elected...")

Here I go:

1) Talk to people more.

2) Get a piece of poetry or fictional piece published in Redraft 2009 (a competition where you submit a poem or prose and if the judges think it's good, it gets published in this collection of works).

3) Get NCEA Lv3 certificate endorsed with excellence.

4) Apply for Media Studies scholarship examination and do well in it.

5) Do well in NCEA Lv3 English.

6) Start writing again (I'm busy with school).

7) Improve in my Dota skills (warcraft 3: frozen throne customized 5 vs 5 game) so that me and my mates can enter in LAN tournaments down at Midcity Internet Cafe and get a reputation and compete with other pro players.

Yeah I think that's all. I hope I'll keep up with them lol. :D

Mine are fairly simple:

1. Write a novel.

2. Read 50 books and keep a journal about them.

3. Get involved in YWS like I used to be.

4. Be happy.

I don't really believe in these; it seems more like 'make an improbable wish day' or something. People rarely keep them.

I just want to keep doing what I do and do it well. So, I will.

I've never kept a NYR. So, that's my first NYR.

- By 17th December (16th Birthday), complete my first draft of my first novel.
- Lose enough weight to feel happy.
- Write some good reviews.
