Never, ever say this to someone. Ever.

At least not to me.

this is a hilarious thread....
melkor: I'm a girl obviously and I hate the romance genre. I never even touch the romance section of YWS (well ok I was over there once to review a new member's work). I don't read romance either. Anything supergirly disgusts me....lol
anyway, a lot of what people have said on here are stereotypes. There's always an oddball so why discuss?

I agree with Meep too. Guys write overly guyish stuff. like swearing etc....i hate that.

Melkor, calling a person stupid, mindless, and tasteless is completely unacceptable.

But really, saying that girls always write about girly stuff? Absolutly not. Unless you never read, you'd know that women write non-girly stuff.

Long paragrapsh about some guys cuteseyness are generally sickening to us.

What about a girl reading how drop-dead gorgeous some female character is?
Some stories I've read written by guys just describe how hot the female is...
There's not much personality put in it. Not saying that this is the case for all guys and only guys.

A round of applause for thunder_dude, ladies!

Hey! I actually complimented you guys, y'know!

Sort of.

I just said, most boys my age are absolutely immature and are incapable of more than that kind of thought. Not you guys. You guys are intellectually impressive.

I call my friends 'dude' all the time, and they're all girls.
I don't have any guy friends because I avoid them like the plague.
Don't ask me why, because I don't know either.

Well, Lily, you called the guys you know immature, simply because they grow up slower than us.
It's a fact :D *ahemahempubertyahemahem*
They'll catch up sooner or later and stop acting like doofuses eventually.
Not saying that this applies to every boy, of course.

The guys I know seemed to catch up around 16. Don't be too hard on them, most of them are lovely really.
When you look at your life, in a strange new room, maybe drowning soon, is this the start of it all?

How many overgeneralisations can we have in one thread? There are no absolutes for either gender. And no such things as "girly" or "guy" stories. Everyone writes what they want to. It's as simple as that.

Well, usually men like stories with blood and explosions and sex. Girls like girly things like pink and love stories and unicorns.

Actually, a unicorn exploding wouldn't be a bad idea.
