What have been the top ten books that you've read?

THE TOP TEN BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ:

1.The Dead of Night by John Marsden
2.Glory Field by Walter Dean Myers
3.Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
4.Bloomability by Sharon Creech
5.Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech
6.Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson
7.Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix
8.The Cage by Ruth Minksy Sender
9.My Brother, The Thief by Marlene Fanta Shyer
10.Who Will Tell My Brother? by Marlene Carvell

My 3 favorite out of these would have to be:
1.Fever 1793
2.Glory Field
3.Who Will Tell My Brother?

*side note* if you have never read Who Will Tell My Brother, you are missing out...this book changed my life...I think every human should be required to read it. It only last about 120 pages and takes a day or maybe two to read. I encourage everyone to get the book on your next visit to the library/bookstore
when there's nowhere to go, it's time to grow up.

This top 10 is in order from greatest to just great:

1. Masters of Rome series by Collen McCollough
2. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
3. London by Edward Rutherford
4. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
5. Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card
6. Foundation Triology by Issac Asimov
7. 1984 by George Orwell
8. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
9. Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand
10. Any Dr. Suess book

Took me a while with a lot of changes, but there it is... so many others I could include on there, but the Masters of Rome series is the absolute best. I could read those books over and over and never tire of them; same with Pillars of the Earth.

Top Ten (NOT in order, since I have NO SUCH THING in my life):

1. "1984" - George Orwell
2. "Song of Susannah" - Stephen King*
3. "Abarat" - Clive Barker
4. "American Gods" - Neil Gaiman**
5. "The DaVinci Code" - Dan Brown
6. "Obsidian Butterfly" - Laurell K. Hamilton***
7. "Abhorsen" - Garth Nix****
8. "Troubling a Star" - Madeleine L'Engle
9. "I Ain't Got Time To Bleed" - Jesse Ventura
10. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" - J.K. Rowling

I tried not to list an author twice... but I generally like any other book by the authors... if they've written one (does not apply to George Orwell and Jesse Ventura).

* - The entire "Dark Tower" series is worth reading, this is the 6th installment.

** - Neil Gaiman's best work, perhaps, is "Sandman", the graphic novels, which he wrote and before they were made into comics. They are WONDERFUL.

*** - Both LKH's Anita Blake series (of which the book listed is #10) and Merry Gentry series are wonderful.

**** - The third installment of a trilogy, starting with Sabriel, then Lirael, and finally Abhorsen. They're very interesting, especially if you're into magic and dead things.

I remember reading Artemis Fowl a few years ago, months later I hear that its really big or something. I dunno where I was when I was reading it, but all I can remember was a boisterious fairy trying to break into this little boys house.

i read feaver 1793 aswell, but didn't like it as much as her other books. Cataclyst is the one that i liked the most, Kate was familiar in a way.

1. For Whom the Bell Tolls- Ernest Hemingway
2. To Kill a Mockingbird- Harper Lee
3. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn- Mark Twain
4. Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn- Mark Twain
5. Wuthering Heights- Emily Bronte
6. The Old Man and the Sea- Ernest Hemingway
7. The Yellow Wallpaper- Charlotte Perkins Gilman
8. The Hobbit- J.R.R Tolkien

Not read that many books recently, but one series that stands out for me is the Broken Sky series (Chris Wooding). There are 18 installments. So I guess that's my top 10 (or 18 ).
Currently writing : 'The Last Exodus' (a Neocron 2 fan fiction story)

Oh! I love HOLES and THE GIVER! Have you read "GATHERING BLUE" by the same author (not Holes, the other person... Louis Lowrey, is it? Something like that)? It's pretty cool. Not as good, but pretty good... it's supposed to be a kinda-sequel to it... I found it very interesting... yes indeedy I did...

OOH I read it! I don't really remember it though lol. I just remember something about a chain..

I'm almost positive that I finished it, though. I can't just ignore a book until I finish it, unless it's a horrible book that I have absolutely no interest in (like After, for instance).

My top ten.. Uh.. No order, and this is typed at 2:15 in the morning.

1.LOTR series
2.HP series
3.Dragonriders of Pern series
4.Wings of a Falcon
5.The Giver
6.The Ellimist (in the Animorphs series lol)
7.Ender's Game series (including alternate POV)
8.The Nurgle's Magic Tear (I was so young when I first read that.. little kid book, but I still like it)
9.His Dark Materials series
10.A Tale of Two Cities (call me crazy, but I loved this book! I had to decide between this one and Jane Eyre for the 10th book)

I'll probably get up tomorrow, reread this, and immediate replace almost all of these lol.
