how do you change the message that appears underneith your username and above your avatar? I can't figure it out x_x

Just go to My YWS>Personal Info and then you can change your signature there.

I think she means custom title, but you can't get hose until you are a novelist I think.

Aedomir is right. You don't get one of those until you become a "Novelist" which means you have...some number of posts...I forget. There's a list somewhere.

You need 250 posts before you can change your custom title.
