Not sure how many people are actually interested in these, but I thought I'd pass it along since the reason for the success of these numbers to follow rely on the community, especially Greeters, Instructors, Junior Moderators, and Moderators.

In short, February was a major success. Not only by far the best February YWS has ever had, but the busiest month by daily activity as well. Who knows if it'll continue, but y'all are the reason for this success. Big Brother keeps this site a very friendly place, the Junior Moderators ensure that everything is in its proper place, the Instructors provide great examples of great critiques, and the Greeters ensure that YWS is a welcoming place. On top of all, the registered members make sure this place works and continues to work.

So thank you! And here are the stats:

Total Posts: 13,828 or ~475 posts per day (up 109% from 2007)

Total Topics:
1,037 (up 65% from 2007)

I always look at the ratio of Posts to Topics, and as long as it's 10 to 1, I'm happy. In February, it did 33% better than that with a ratio of 13.3 to 1!

Visits: 34,052 (up 98% from 2007)
Pageviews: 441,963 (up 62% from 2007)
Average Time On Site: 15 min, 35 sec (down 3% from 2007)
% New Visits: 35.4% (up from 21.4% in 2007)
Absolute Unique Visitors: 13,000 (up 212% from 2007)

So the only stat to fall is the average time on site, and that's expected because of the huge rise in new visitors. In fact, it's surprising it fell only by 3%.

Top 10 Countries:

    1. United States
    2. United Kingdom
    3. Canada
    4. Australia
    5. New Zealand
    6. Ireland
    7. Germany
    8. Philippines
    9. India
    10. Spain
So after being #3 for over a year, Australia has fallen to the one time holder, Canada. So bad news for Oz on that front, but what about cities?

Top 10 Cities:

    1. Sydney, Australia
    2. London, UK
    3. Auckland, New Zealand
    4. East York, UK
    5. Adelaide, Australia
    6. Glendale, California
    7. Toledo, Ohio
    8. Atlanta, Georgia
    9. Davis, California
    10. Dublin, Ireland

What's interesting about that is that no US city appears in the top 10 until number 6, and the majority of cities are outside the United States.

Note: Date comparisons are for February 1, 2007 to March 1, 2007 since there was no February 29 last year.

While I woe the move of Australia as 3rd. I do notice that Canada doesn't factor in the city count at all. :p

Those are some awesome figures, Nate. Yay YWS! ^^
I like you as an enemy, but I love you as a friend.

Wow, for a country in which everyone knows everyone else, New Zealand is doing pretty impressively.
I wrote the above just for you.

Oops, made a mistake with Adelaide there! Fixed now though.

Suzanne ->> It's always true! In this case, January '08 is the only month busier than February, but not on a daily basis. If February had just one more day, it may have overtaken January. Definitely would have with two more days.

In that respect, then, you can't look at month activity based on the whole month, unless they have the same number of days. Posts per day would be more accurate...

That's really cool. Kinda funny that the US is number one in countries but doesn't hold a city until number seven.

Anchorage, right? If so, not until #365.

If Juneau, then #22.
