During the BIG move, I was over at TW browsing the forums. I found - in the 'larger stories' thread - a great idea. Here is a link:

http://www.teenagewriters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11045

I think YWS should host something similar to this, as NaNoWriMo isn't until november. I think if an admin is in on this it would work out even smoother.

So is this a possibility?

PS: Tell me if the link is working or not, since I'm a member at TW.

I like the idea and would like to do it. The link works and this would give me a nudge because I need to get going on my novel. It would help if a Mod worked on it too, so let's see what happens.

Could work. Depends on the level of interest.

Maybe. It depends on my teachers and how much homework they give me when I return to school.

Well, I hosted a Ma(y)NoWriMo...Which failed horribly because everyone was terribly busy and lazy!!! There is only a big push to write if you have enough people to word war with, and to race to certain word counts, etc, I've noticed, otherwise the fun isn't there.

It's an awesome idea, but you really have to get lots of people involved otherwise it flops because of the lack of encouragement and involvement. NaNoWriMo is world-wide, so there is never a problem with lack of encouragement/challenges.

Alright. I see your point, clau.

Okay, so that means we'll have to start a list of those people who would be TOTALLY commited to a Novel Challenge. The minimum will have to be, say, ten participants.

Those of you would be commited to this, please post here.

And Firestarter: If we get ten participants, will you oversee the novel challenge? There will have to be some sort of reward/awards involved, I think.

Sure, I can easily oversee and possibly provide awards.

I'd totally do it- I need an excuse to write. ^_^

However, I'd need a bit of a warning- a week or two to get ready? I think everyone needs that, to finish up school things so the work load is less.

But word wars= yum. I'm up for it.
