True. Though they usually want it to be in a different form or not completely online. First three chapters versus the entire work will sway them more, but they also can get an idea of how well received it is (if they bother to check). If you are in it for the money and to be picked up by a non-POD publisher, I would seriously reconsider sharing that work on YWS.

Though if you do something like Lulu, you shouldn't worry.

Well, I'm hoping to make a career out of my writing, so it is relevant to me. I'd rather go through a respected Canadian publisher.

Anyway, that's for a different thread. It is nice to see this all written out.

My question is this, Say someone took our work from this site and reused ti elsewhere, now I know they get banned from here, but is there any other legal action that can be take? I mean if they got it published then we could just go ahead and sue them, but if they just took our stuff and posted it on another site would we be able to take action on the other site as well?
