Ahah, Fontroy. Although the Olympics are kind of the opposite of war ... they're all about promoting peace and respecting other althlete's skills and abilities. Orsomething.

Here is a small rant about Bode Miller:
What, I repeat, what is with this guy? All he's doing is talking and flouncing around his ego--and not one medal from him thus far! Not even close to one! All I'm saying is--if you're going to talk, at least have your performance match your talk. Grr!

Yay, Plushenko did wonderous in the figure skating short program today. Usually I'm all for the American skaters ... but I've been watching him since Salt Lake and he's great. Hm. I haven't caught any of the bobsledding or the luge lately. That upsets me. Maybe I'll catch a webcast later ... </ramble>
i thought you were shallow, but then i fell in deep.

I love the Olypmics, the winter ones more than the summer. Figureskating and snowboarding are the best.

I'm also looking forward to Euro 2006.

I prefer the summer games, as my favorite sports/events are there: shooting sports, karate, and soccer

Didn't see it. I don't have much time for TV, so I've mostly just been watching when Canadians are competing.
Please, sit down before you fall down.

So that's why the men's team didn't get a medal and got knocked out in the quarter-finals? Yeh ...

Fair do. I had fun watching the ice hockey this year, although I think it's one of the sports that doesn't translate so well to television, and is better in the flesh.

Tell that to millions of Canadian viewers...

Oh well, at least Sweden won gold baby! And I am happy that Canada got 24 metals, and Croatia 3 I think (2 golds for Janica Kostelic, 1 silver for her brother Ivica).

oh yeah! When women won the gold, res was full of excitement. I watched a full game of hockey for the first time. It wasn't that I loved the game. It was about being a good Canadian. Just after the game ended, there were cheers all around. At least five or six TVs were turned to the game (and only 42 people live in my res). At the end of the game, the RA for my floor, who was watching it in her room, came to my boyfriend's room where he and I were watching it and said, "I love Canada!"

And for the record, it's jusy hockey. No need for an adjective unless it's not the regular kind. Honestly, to a Canadian's ear, it's like saying tuna fish. We all know tuna is a fish, just like we know hockey is generally played on ice.

GO AUSTRALIA!!! YAY!!! Two medals so far for us. One bronze, and a gold which was one by a man who was born in Canada. On behalf of the country, I would like to thank the people who made immigration possible.
