Kestrel from Wind on Fire, I didn't like Bowman. :P And of course Bartimaeus and Kitty from the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

From real life I'm inspired by the local social workers, animal rights group and Greenpeace. Also a guy called Morris because he has set up a local club for kids/teens to use during holidays so they stay out of trouble, get help on homework, sometimes outings are organised and we also take part in sponsered runs/summer fairs. :D

for writers.. Jane Austen rocks (pride and predjuce!) Dickens can be really good at times.. Poe (what can I say?) love shakespeare (comedies are the best, at least thet ones I've read/seen).. Few others no one will have heard of.. Diane Duane. I love the way she writes (not always material, but writing).

hehe. wind on fire. it was alright, but it read like a stage play (aka lets see it on stage!).

In real life.. two (er..three) of my english teachers. they inspired me to write. One was a pirate, the other regularly wore one contact to class so she could play tennis later, actually taught writing (not like english teachers), and was good friends with the pirate teacher. and another teacher of mine.. yeah. If all else fails, I'm teaching. see why?

/randomness that was actually pertinent.

I'm a weird person. I don't really have people that I look at and say "I want to be like that". I have people that I look at and say "I DON'T want to be like that". So... I really don't have an idols/people I look up to.

I don't idolize anyone, and that had to be cleared up, but there are certain...personalities in certain regions that of course one looks up to.

As a writer, Hemingway has always been someone I’ve admired, much less a person than an author. Che Guevara is the personality I admire; I admire him as a revolutionary and as an activist. I admire Karl Marx in a different way, as one of the forefathers of communism and its incredible ideals. I admire the leaders of the riots in Paris in 1968 for protesting in something they believed strongly in, as well as those working for United Nations. I admire my father for bringing me up in the right environment and household, and for his skills in Wing Chun and his self-discipline. And of course, I admire James Dean for being absolutly hot and having such complete confidence in every gesture and every word.

The one I look up to is Alan Shearer, the English striker. He is 33 now and is still considered one of the best players in the English Premier Football League. Show me someone with more endurance, stamina and strength of mind and I promise I'll eat my hat.
( Come to think of it,I haven't got a hat. So I guess I'll have to take back what I just said.)

From the political/philosophical side of things:
- Marx
- Nietzsche
- Hume
- Hobbes

Musically:
- Al Stewart
- the Eagles
- Paul Simon
- (there are so many more I like)

Writers:
- Way, way too many I love..
- T.H. White
- Orson Scott Card
- Guy Gavriel Kay
- Phillip Pullman

These and loads more are people I admire and look up to, but as far as I remember there's only one person I've ever actually wanted to be (not that he really exists!) and that's Sandy Arbuthnot.
