Spamming [A Must Read For All]

The spamming in The Lounge and Randomness is beginning to get out of control. There are some threads where it's literally just three people going back and forth for pages on end. Guys, this has to stop.

If you're making more than a few posts per day in Randomness, then you're probably making too many posts. In The Lounge, if most of your posts are just a sentence long (if that), then you need to stop. The Lounge isn't for inane commentary; it's for real discussion. If you want to chat, we have a chatroom.

So please, stop the spamming. If it gets bad enough, we may have to go back to making people pay (with points) to post in these forums.

What about the comments about the pictures in Post Your Pic Here? Most are one sentence, but they're commenting on the picture (and provide some lovely ego-boosting.) Maybe comment on the past few pictures to make the comment more than one sentence?

An occasional one liner on someone's photo from a person who doesn't comment on the forums that frequently (≈spam, more or less) probably doesn't hurt. But if one starts to make those short stuffing comments on every thread everyday, just to get their post counts up or something, then it's annoying and they should stop.

Nate, I do understand your frustration. Also, it would
be a good idea to use the points as currency again.
Otherwise you have useless points.

I wish you could feature Lounge topics. This would do wonders. I noticed it too, especially in Post Your Pic Here and my own Character Tavern in Storybooks. It gets extremely old. Even in Report a Good Member there are pages and pages of just pointless rambling. D:

Heh, lots of people are guilty of spamming. I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

There are some sites that don't count the posts in their randomness forum, and I've always thought that's kind of ridiculous. Your post count is the number of posts you've made on the site; surely each post should be counted.

Besides, it wouldn't mean anything. The problem with the spamming isn't post counts; it's the spamming itself. I made this topic after receiving lots of complaints from people annoyed by how others hijack threads from time to time.
