I have just started a witchhunter story and after doing some research there doesnt seem to be alot of witch hunter stories outthere.

does the idea sound original?

I can't say that I've ever read any dark fantasy involving witch hunters - not as you've portrayed them certainly (in Mauve Eye).

So - in conclusion - yes, sounds original. Or at least, highly uncommon.

Yes...I have a critique in progress - saved as draft. ^_^ The title caught my eye; and I liked the image of the huntseye, blurring things mauve.

Thanks. Looks like the Mauve Eye will be my next project then, I need to slow down the beginnning a little though

Is the story based in a fictional world or ours?

I've read a book set in our world with witches, vampires, etc, all living in secret and some humans know of their existance and try to hunt them down. I can't remember the title but I think you should still go for the idea.

It may have been done once or twice, but it certainly isn't something that you see often. Give it a shot, see what happens. Even if it isn't original to begin with, often it will become more original in the details and the characters.

Its based in a fantasy world.

Just do your research, so us real witches don't get a bum rap.
