Wow - I feel kind of weird asking, but I'm really not sure about this.

Okay, when you're typing dialogue, and you end the dialogue and put something like "he said" at the end, is the "he" capitalized?

Example:

"I have a ball," he said.

or

"I have a ball," He said.

Also, does this change depending on how you end the dialogue? I.E. above I ended with a comma - what if I ended it with a period? Would that effect whether or not "he" was capitalized?

The general rule is you use a small letter after dialogue, no matter what. But some people (including some published authors) use capitals after periods and question marks.
