Use the upload feature. When posting, scroll down to where the upload section is and use the browse button to find the picture and then click upload. That way you can only post them what at a time, however so people tend to use a hosting site like photobucket or image shack and then copy the links.
Like Kitty said, you can use www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com to post your pictures there. Then if you have the link you need to surround it with this: [img*] Img URL here[/*img] (sans the *) Photobucket has this code built in and you can click on their version and it will copy it for you then you paste it in a message.
