I just finished writing and editing a short suspense story, about 1,000 words, but I don't know where to submit it. I tried googling for some suspense magazines and all I could find is The Strand. Does anybody know of others, or literary magazines that accept suspense stories?
Problems are like mould; if not stopped, they grow and spread until even the air is filled with the poison of their spores.
There are way more literary publications that publish that type of thing than you think. I can't suggest a particular place, but I'd suggest getting a resource like The Young Writer's Market or the Writer's Market. Most libraries have them. You'd almost certainly be able to find something in a directory like that.
There's no garuntee with this one and it seems to take forever for them to decide if they want to publish it or not but here's another site:http://www.teenink.com/plus/mystuff/login.php (Click No, No, then it goes to the Register part. The rest is self-explainatory).
