I used to make up all kinds of nuts names...my own languages and everything. Problem is, no one knew how to pronounce but me. So I've taken to borrowing from A) Shakespeare B) Greek/Roman mythology and C) Biblical names. Great stuff. I have a thing for elegant names. I've always said that my children will have elegant names. I also have a thing for bizzare spellings, but I gave that up after I realized that it doesn't make names memorable. Just annoying.

Names I am personally fond of:

Kimber
Dianna
Rian
Jonathan
Gabriel
Anjel (An-hel...it's Puerto Rican)
Rosemary
Jordan
Joss
Amber
Anna
Lillian
Andrew
Chase
Joanne
Miranda
Ruchel
Chavela
Ruth
Shana
Eve
Sarah
Abigael

Also...see http://www.behindthename.com/random.html Random name generator. Very fun.

Yeah, if you want a common name but not too normal then try Jonathan for a guy and Ava for a girl. I find that those two names are a good balence between normal and weird.
