Well hello there! After reading all the different newbie threads, I think this seems like one of the nicer forums out there. Can't wait to delve into this whole thing!
Hey guys I'm new here. I've done a few reviews but I'm not sure on how to go about doing these posts. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Thanks for the help guys. Any advice on what I should be doing to start off? I read some of the other posts on what to do but I was hoping for more specifics. I'd appreciate the help.
@TheGambit, that depends on what kind of stuff you're the most interested in and/or curious about!
Wandering the forums and jumping in on discussions or writerly games is always interesting, as you get to read other people's thoughts and chime in with your own. Chat is fun too, it's probably the quickest way to meet new people and get acquainted on several levels (not necessarily writing-related), as well as participate in games and word wars. Then of course, there's reviewing, which I see you've already started with. You can take a peek into the Knowledge Base (scroll down to the Resources part of the forum section), and find a few articles on reviewing that might help you figure it out if you need it. Or, if you feel like collaborating on a story with other person or people, you could join or create a Storybook - check the Storybooks tab, General Storybook Discussions forum, to find all the FAQs and explanations of that part of the YWS world (or just poke me if you have any questions; as a captain of the SB Crew, I'll gladly help out). And, of course, you could start by submitting a work for us to critique on! You'll need to spend points to do that, but you can easily earn points by reviewing other people's works.
That's kind of it. You can also browse the Clubs, Blogs and People tabs, and connect to people who share your views, like same things and so on. And if you haven't yet, you could update your About page and other parts of your profile - you'll find it all easy to edit from the Settings tab (the one with the little gear). Hopefully that helps.
Welcome aboard!

That helps alot @AriaAdams, thanks for advice. I'll try to get into some of these things. It sounds like there are alot of fun things to do here. Thank you for showing me these things and welcoming me here. I hope to become a contributing member of YWS.
I've just subscribed and was going to post a thread right away, were it not for the fact that I then remembered the welcome thing( eh, it's been a long time since I've last hung around on a forum).
