Hi, I love to write (obviously), and as a hobby I have been writing since I was in fourth grade but only last year I have started writing again with a new found passion. I prefer to write anything fantasy, a little science fiction, and I really love writing about war and the corruption of those in power. I'm a pessimist, and this causes me to sometimes leads me to write darker stories. I want to be a writer, but if I can't make a living as that I guess I'd want to be a lawyer or a psychiatrist.

Hiya and welcome!

So, a few rules before you leap into the wonderful world of YWS:

1- Review two works before posting anything of your own. This helps make sure everybody gets a review. Plus, people are very willing to return the favour. ;) A review must be at least three lines long, or else it won't count. The plus side is, the more you can point out, be it positive or negative, the better your own writing gets. ^_^ It's asked you always keep that 2:1 ratio.

2- No chat-speak please! Some abbreviations like lol, brb, POV, MC and other term abbreviations are fine, just don't overdo it.

3- Rated works are what YWSers like to see. If you rate your work, and it's not rated R, then it'll show up on the front page of YWS. You might even get more comments. ;) Rated R works have the f-word and/or graphic scenes.

4- Pictures in your signature aren't allowed. Since a lot of people on YWS use dial-up, pictures take a long time to load. Also, YWSers tend to make long posts, and picture sigs just stretch the page.

Well! Those are the rules.

Fantasy is my one true love in fiction. I write it all the time, as much as I can. It's so fun creating new worlds. ^_^

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Hey Shadowlink! I'm Rhee. Welcome to the forum. :]
I'm also fascinated about the faults of people that are in authority...especially when you're writing the characters. It's fun to see what they do in different circumstances. ^^
I'm conside psychiatry too, and people tend to give me odd looks when I mention that, considering I had OCD until I was eight and am a little crazy in general. x)
Anyway, since Rosey covered all the rules (as usual) I just stopped by to say hi and welcome you to YWS. So...hi. And...welcome. :]
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me!

Hello Shadowlink, welcome to YWS! So if you haven't already noticed, we have a point system here on YWS. These are the points that you earn and spend while on YWS. Here is how it works:

Submitting Work

- Storybooks cost 300 points to submit.

- Fiction and poetry cost 150 points, but you can get 50 points back depending upon how much you write and if it is 250 characters or more.

Earning Points

- You can earn points by reviewing another's work and can earn up to 50 points. You can do so when critiquing in the Literary and Poetry forums.

- You can also earn points in other places here, like some Community forums and Groups. You can earn up to 0 points.

So do share a little more about yourself. :)

What are you currently working on?

Who is your favorite author?

What is your favorite soda?

What is your favorite book/series/trilogy?

That's awesome that you want to be a lawyer, because as much as some people dislike them, they are certainly needed. Both my parents work in Law and enjoy it immensely. Psychiatrists have a fun job, as well.

Darker stories get a lot of critiques on here, for some reason. In my experience, the more twisted the better. Just kidding; whatever you write it will be reviewed.

If you would like a review, have a question, or would just like to chat, feel free to PM me.
Got YWS?

Hi Shadowlink and welcome to YWS! I think it's cool you want to be a lawyer. I want to be one, but I can't debate well enough. I prefer something where I have to be in front of less people.

And anyway, great to meet you! I'm sure you'll love it here on YWS! Most things have already been explained, so I guess I can do usergroups. Here on YWS, we have a bunch of groups created by the members for others with similar interests. You'll find one for just about everything. Look under the 'Groups' button at the top of the page. If you don't find one you like, you can start your own.

And, I hope to see you around sometime, Shadowlink. Feel free to PM me for anything you need. See ya!
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.
