Hey vampirechick, welcome to YWS!

I'll be happy to tell you about the rules here on YWS! Here's my survival guide:

Tips and Rules

1.) No chat-speak, like brb and luva, you know. Lol and POV are ok.

2.) No caps lock. NO ONE ON THIS SITE WANTS TO SEE YOU TALKING LIKE THIS.

3.) We have a 2:1 ratio here when it comes to submitting and reviewing. This means you must have 2 reviews for each time you submit your own work. So what I'm really begging you to do is don't just start posting your own work right away, because I promise you it won't be reviewed. You need at least two reviews.

4.) Be kind and considerate to others while on the site, whether your in the Debating Group to your blog. Be kind where-ever you are and I'm sure you'll have a bunch of friends in no time.

5.) Rate all your work. If it has mature content, like sex scenes, and the f-word, please rate it R.

6.) You may choose groups to join based off of your interests. We have everything from random to writing.

7.) Make sure your reviews are at least three sentences long or it will not count as a review. Do not write "That was awesome, keep writing!" because it's not a review.

There are my seven tips and rules. I hope you find some use for them.

Heyas Vampy! Do you mind if I call you that? Anyone that has a name relating to vampires is almost always called Vampy in my mind, unless there's a part of it that sticks out more. And welcome to YWS!

It looks like Rosey and Selene have already acquainted you with the rules, so here I am! By now, you have probably noticed that some of us have different colored names. Quick rundown on who's who:

Blue people are greeters who greet you and help you get acquainted with the site.
Purple people are instructors who go above and beyond to help improve your writing.
Light Green people are Junior Moderators who keep things in control in specific forums
Dark Green people are Moderators who keep things under control in all forums
Red people are Administrators who make sure that the site is up and running
Orange people are distinguished members, meaning they are retired mods.

Well, that's it for colors! There's a guide at the bottom of the page if you need to know. Just navigate to the Community or Literary forums if you want to have a look. They're links which lead to a page explaining what they are.

So, wow. I got beaten to the punchline.

All I have to say is the wonders of groups. On YWS we have a bunch of usergroups for you to join on just about everything. Just hit the big Groups button in the header and you'll be met with a bunch. Scroll around to find the ones you like. ^_^
