1) Yes, the orange color means Snoink is retired. She's still around, but isn't as active (she just got married, so she's busy with real-world stuff). Light green mods are current Junior Moderators, responsible for a certain part of the site, and Global Moderators (dark green) moderate the whole site. Red names are admins, and Nate (the founder) is black. If you have any questions, you can ask me or any of the green names. An updated list of staff can be found here: theteam.php


2)Story ratings: Yes, you should rate your stories appropriately, especially if they are 16+ or 18+(has f-word or extreme graphic content). I don't know if it's still true that 18+ stories don't end up on the front page (that post was written in 2009, and the site has undergone a lot of change since then).

To get your work featured (the scrolling box on the home page), it has to get the most "Likes" in the past 24 hours.

Hello people!

I'm a noob here, just made my account the other day. I've been looking for an interesting site to post, review and meet all sorts of awesomely creative individuals, and it would seem I have come to the right place!

I'm still pretty shy about my work and expressing myself, even via internet, so I'm hoping here I will start finding my writing confidence, along with some friends who are into what I am and wont think I'm totally weird!

Interests wise I love video games! I'm a nerd so anything from chainsawing some zombies to discussing who is more awesome, David Tennant or Matt Smith, will strike my fancy :3 Music! I love music! I generally stick with punk and grunge, but respect most forms of music and all musicians who take the time and devotion into making it.

@callmebuttercup24 Welcome! Here's some basic info to help you out.

1) The points system. To post a work, you need points (the amount varies between 250 and 500 depending on how many works need reviewing). You get these points by reviewing. You can get up to 100 points for most reviews and 150 points for works in the Green Room (they have 0 or 1 reviews). Long reviews will get you the most points and be the most helpful to the author.

2) How to post a work. On the top bar, you'll see the Publishing Center. Click there to submit a work. First, you'll have to create a folder to put the piece in. Then click the "Add a new work" button and paste your work (or upload it) into the editor.
