Hi,

This site seem pretty cool, so I thought I'd try it out. Not entirely sure how it works yet, but I'm hoping I'll learn as I go. Tips, advice, and redundancy welcome. :D I'm a Reader/Writer Person Thingy and this looks like a lot of fun.

One of my most favorite writers is Carrie Vaughn. Another is Stephen King (circa early 80's). I'm into informal writing styles and witty internal dialogue among protagonists.

Anyways, can't wait to get started reading/writing here. Party on, dudes!

Welcome to the YWS family!
*fires celebratory cannons*
I'm Meep, a Greeter! We're the blueys! :D

Anyhoo, I have to get you acquainted with a few rules first:
1) Keep chatspeak and CAPS lock to a minimal
2) The 2:1 ratio rule. For every 1 piece of work you post, you must review 2 others not done by you because it helps us keep the balance in the forums.
Failure to comply will result in you being fed to the hounds.

Kidding.
I think.

Ooooh a Stephen King fan!
I absolutely love wit.
Shame that I lack the skill.
Oh, and feel free to PM for anything you wish :)

Witty anything is a total win, if you ask me. The trick is not sucking at writing it!

(you said "reader/writer thingy, which means you're awesome, btw. Just sayin')

Welcome to YWS! If you have any questions about the site, feel free to ask me! I think it's a pretty cool place, but I'm also unreasonably biased ;)

Hope you enjoy the site!

Hi Secret! Another Stephen King fan to add to the list? Whee! I'm WaterVyper, but you can call me anything you like. Go ahead, call me a banana or a mouse, I won't care. Anyway, I thought I'd explain about the colors, since Meep already explained the rules. There are different colors for different ranks.

Blue: As Meep has said, for the Greeters. Their job is to make you feel welcome, and to answer any primary questions you have.

Purple: They're the Instructors. Any time you need an in-depth critique, you can go ask them. Adding to the critique thing, there's a board under 'The Lounge' and it's called 'Will Review for Food'. The people there will usually review anything.

Light Green: They're Junior Moderators. For slightly more complex questions, you can ask them.

Dark Green: This is for the Moderators. Other technical stuff goes to them.

Orange: Distinguished members of the site.

Red: Administrators, like Mesh up there and Nate. They keep the site running.

Well, I think that's it. Besides reading and writing, what other hobbies or interests do you have? There's a user group for most interests, so check out the big 'Groups' button up there. Anyway, that's all I have to say. Welcome, and see you around!
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Welcome to the insane asylum *coughs* I mean YWS!

Please keep in mind when posting a story on YWS that you try to use good grammar. It drives everyone nuts when people don't. (Not that I am one of those people... :) )
No chatspeak. None. Failure to avoid chatspeak results in torture.
Can't say that I have read much Stephan King... oh well.
If you need any help, at all, please PM me. I'll be happy to help you out. See ya!

Hey hey,

Thanks for the welcome! It's nice to meet everyone. Since several of you asked, one of my big hobbies is short-film making. I also have done theatre a whole bunch, writing, directing, acting, set and costume design and production, stage hand, and sound design...fun stuff. ;-)

As far as my own writing goes, scripts are my first love. Followed by poetry, which I love because there really are no rules when it comes to poetry, and words can be so powerful!

(I'm a little afraid to submitt stuff. Though I'd love to get some input) :0) I'm sort of working on a novella thingy. Or maybe it'll be a series, not sure yet. And also a short-story mystery/slasher piece. So...anyways, you might see something out there by me pretty soon. :)

Oh, and by the way, Red Riding Hood? No, I won't eat you. I'm your grandmother in disguise. He he he. (Didn't you know your grandmother was a werewolf?) Awhooooo!

See you guys around!

My grandma has never been a werewolf and I don’t believe in werewolves
but who are you pretending to be handsome. This with the werewolves is
very well-worn. I advice you to change your mask to not frighten children
here. For me though will be interesting to see something of the werevolves
literature because I didn’t see anything so far.

i aggree with littleredridinghood007. werewolves DON"T exist! get a life. seriously, their dumb anyways/ stop pretending to be all scary 'cause if you think your gonna scare us your sadly mistaken. you should write about something interesting instead of bashing everyone with more werewolf crap.
