Hi everyone!
My name is Kat. I'm a 20-year-old part-time student. I currently live in Wisconsin, but I am preparing for a very exciting move into the Twin Cities! I love big thought experiments (like, what if there was a nuclear war? Or what if humans lived underwater?) and I love to read and write, but I only have real experience with writing nonfiction.
I am very excited to join the Young Writers Society and to exchange writing with all of you!

Kat

Hey Kat, welcome to YWS! We're so happy to have you! :D

If you like big thought experiments, I think you'll like the Serious Discussion and Debate page (if you haven't seen it already). :) Nonfiction is definitely welcome here. What kinds of topics do you like to write about?

Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help you out as you get started around here!
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.

Ask a Therapist!
I want to beta read your novel!

Ask me anything. Talk to me about anything. Seriously. My PM box is always open <3

Hi Carlito,
I'll definitely check it out! I like to write about sci-fi and speculative fiction topics, but I also like to write about the supernatural or paranormal. For example, for a high school creative writing project, I wrote about Scooby Doo. But I wrote them as hoaxsters who were angling at getting a TV show. They then go to my home-state of Wisconsin to "investigate" the Beast of Bray Road, only to find an actual monster.

Actually, I've already posted a work! I don't think anyone has reviewed it, though, since it's a fanfiction and pretty long. If I sent you a first chapter, would you be kind enough to take a peak? If you like Doctor Who (or even if you don't), I promise it will be worth your time! :P

Thanks! But you might not know what you're signing up for in offering to listen to my ramblings! :smt003

I'm a bit of a derp, so I did not realize there even was a chatbar.

For the same reason, YWS seems to think that I'm a boy, and I can't change my profile settings. :?

Thank you for the welcome, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi SkyeWalker!
I love your name! Do you know why I can't edit my profile? I'm not a boy, but for some reason YWS thinks I am.
Thanks for the welcome! :smt003

Hi Lizzy!
That's right, I wrote a monstrosity called "Rose." You can still review if you want, but it's a novelette-length Doctor Who fanfiction.
I look forward to reading your work soon!
