Hi my name is justbeingme,
I love writing stories and would love to get some pointers on them. I can't wait to start. I like the fact that someone thought up a website like this. I think i'm going to love this site. :smt003

Hey justbeingme! Welcome to YWS! Don't worry, you are definitely going to love this site. :D And yes, Nate, the site Admin, is totally awesome. It's not easy to create a site this great. ;)

You love writing stories? What genre? Fantasy? Romance? Adventure? And what length? Do you like short stories? Or are you an aspiring novelist? But you needn't worry; whatever you post someone will definitely give you pointers, and they'll point out any mistakes you've made or parts which could do with a little changing...basically, we'll help you out. Heck, if you need a review you can shoot me a PM. :)

So, to make sure you aren't confused about the Points System and Submissions, I'll explain them to you.

The Points System

Basically, anything to do with literary items on this site makes use of points. For example, you need 100 points to post a new literary work in any genre. To get points, you need to review/ comment on the works of others. However, if your review is not up to at least 250 characters, you will get no points from that review, and what's more you probably wouldn't have written anything that'd benefit the writer. So make sure your posts are at least 250 characters long (when you get the hang of it, you'll probably find yourself writing reviews around 1000 characters long anyway ;)) and are helpful to the writer (i.e. point out mistakes, make suggestions and are not something like: I LOVE THIS IT'S SO KL RITE MORE). Also remember to never use netspeak, like in the brackets above (lol, cuz, rite and stuff like that).

Submissions

As mentioned in the first paragraph, you need 100 points to submit a literary work. Click on Submit in the taskbar, then when the page loads select the genre your work best fits into. Then a new page will load, where you can type or paste in your work. That's it, really.
But remember to try and do at least three reviews for every submission you make. It's not a solid rule or anything, but you can get told off by the Mods if you submit things too much without reviewing.

And that brings me to the Mods of the site.

If you ever have any questions, any at all, you can ask the JMs (Junior Moderators) or the Mods (Moderators), both of whose names are in green. Or you can ask any member who's been around at least a month, and then of course, you can always ask me. ;) And here's a general guide for new members if you really don't want to ask questions.

So once again, welcome to YWS! I assure you that you'll have an epic time here. :smt003 Look forward to seeing you around,

Hello there, justbeingme! I shall have to think up a nickname for you soon. ;)

Well, welcome to the Young Writers Society! I think I agree when you say you are pretty sure you will love this website, because, well, what's not to love about a site full of young writers? And I love your enthusiasm to start! And yes, Nate sure was a genius for making this website, huh?

And, ooh! You love writing stories, eh, and need some pointers? I would love to do a review or to for you once you post them up, just message me. What kind of writing do you write, primarily? Do you have a favorite band, perhaps? Do you like or dislike nutella? Summer or winter?

Sorry for the twenty questions, just trying to get to know you better, ha ha.

Well, happy holidays!
