Hey there and welcome to the YWS! If you have any questions about the site or need help finding something, go right ahead and pm me.

Tips! We have a lot of tips, but what kind are you looking for? If you go to the drop down menu called "Resources" we have he 101 tips for writers, and the knowledge base. Basically, it's a great place to find all kinds of tips! There is also the "writing tips" section where you can ask a specific question and people will help you out. Check out the user groups, too! We have many, both for writing and other things.

Have you read the rules and so forth? Those are good to read. ;-) I hope you enjoy the site. What do you like to read, and what would you like to write?

Welcome, Brenda! There are *lots* of writing tips around, er, but I see Suz has already covered those, so I won't point them out redundantly ^_^

The biggest tip I can give right off the bat is to not be afraid to write something, or to post what you write. Every word that you write and every bit of feedback you receive can be nothing but helpful, so jump right in! That is, after you've critiqued two things by other people. We like to try for a 2:1 (critique to story post) ratio to keep things running smoothly ^_^

What kind of writing do you do? Are you more of a short story writer or a novelist or a poet (which isn't to say that those are all of the categories, just the most popular ones ^_^)

Ciao for now!
- Leja

Yo -What's up?

:smt039

Welcome to YWS! I haven't done a great deal of writing so far, either. I believe I'm past the point where everything I write is complete junk. Maybe. But, practice makes (almost) perfect and this is the place to practice!

I think for writing in general, my favorite advice is to 'Write the book you want to read'. Someone else on another forum said that, not me.

If you ever get bored and need to chat (or need a critique), PM me or something.

See ya.

Help me get that second star! If you need a review, just send me a PM. (Keep it PG, please. Except for violence... I can handle that. ^^ )

As the notifications drift in I stop and wonder. Why do they take so long? Do they have adventures we don't know about? I bet they do. When they come I will ask myself. What amazing adventure has this straggling notification been on? How far did it travel, and why didn't it take me?
