Hi You Awesome People

Hi everyone,

Gosh, where do I begin? My name is Tyson McFrost, I'm twenty two years old, a fantasy/romance writer and a superhero. Well, not exactly but I live in my head so I guess it's real, right?

I love all sorts of things so listing them will take, like, forever. Oddly enough, I don't do as much as I love--I'm quite lazy, actually, so a fun day for me might be playing League of Legends or watching my dog lick his you-know-what. Yeah, I'm LOADS of fun. But I love meeting new people; I love hiking, jogging, writing and, of course, plotting to rule the world! And I mean that quite literally, because I'm plotting to dominate the world...of my novel.

I've been writing since I was twelve and have come close to being agented, but it ultimately fell apart. Bummer, huh? No big. I bounced right back, reworked my story, honed my craft and am now expanding my horizons to different genres--namely YA Fantasy/Romance for girls and Women's Fiction. Hey, a dude can't write MG forever, at some point you gotta test the waters and let the "muse" take you, ya know?

I am desperately in need of young writers (around) my age because I have so much literary energy and no one to confide in/vent to. Try talking to your cool jock friend about world building and the absolutely thrilling dilema of plot catalysts and see where that gets you. Ya, it's not pretty.

We can talk about all things writing, games, movies, Snooki--you name it! I just need someone who gets it; someone who knows what it's like to be a young aspiring writer in these times.

And if that doesn't sway you I also have cookies. Lots and lots of delicious, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cookies. C'mon you know you want to...

Ciao Tyson! I'm.. Eh. A writer. Actually, if you don't mind, I'd like some tips for writing. ^^ And the "talk about anything" kinda got me, and the cookies sealed the deal. Welcome to YWS! How are things going here so far? Have you posted anything yet? Made new friends?

Well, this was the longest and the most interesting Welcome Mat post I've ever read. And I mean it. You're really interesting and I really agree with you that you can't really discuss your writing problems with your friends-sometimes it seems that all they have is crap in their head. Pardon my language!

Anyways, what have you named your novels? I always get stuck at giving them a title and sometimes I have such awesome titles in my head, but no story at all to go with them. Yeah, I'm weird like that.

You know, if you ever post any prose here, I'd love to review it. Just shoot me a PM or post on my wall. I love reading stuff here and especially if it comes from a newbie. So, just inform me when you post.

Anyways, if you don't know, the people in green and dark green are Mods and you can contact them if you ever get stuck. So, yes, you can PM me for any help. But let me tell you, if you ever ask for help from any of the other YWS-ers, they're going to be just as helpful. We're an awesome community! No kidding!
