So, this is an EXTREMELY edited version of this poem, the spoiler at the bottom is the original post.

Dry spell, dry spell,
go away!
Don’t come back,
another day!

You tease me with your ways,
giving me just a line or two,
then pull away my muse,
and leave me with empty pages.

Your like a lovely song playing in my ear,
that begins to give me inspiration,
but then you turn to static,
and I'm left with nothing but annoyance.

My trash can may be joyous and fat,
full of balled up paper signs of surrender,
signs of my will running dry,
while trying to escape your barren desert.

In this desert you trapped me in
each grain of sand is another unfinished line
laid before me I see my failures,
my unsuccessful attempts at escape.

No clever lines; or beautiful words
can I transfer from my mind,
no spectacular imagery
can I put into words.

Ink tear drops fall from my neglected pen.
My paper left forgotten; no use for it now.
Oh, dry spell, you torture us all,
why wont you please just go home!

Your little cruel games are warring me down
but my pen is stronger then your sword
even now as you wield it at my throat
I'll come out on top, as the writer always does.

you were but a visitor in my humble home
but the thing with visitors is, they leave.
Now, it is time for you to be on your way,
your presents is no longer welcome in my mind.

Now when you go
done worry about returning,
if you’re need, though I doubt to will
I’ll be sure to let you know.

Good bye now
my dear "friend" writers block.

Spoiler
Dry spell, dry spell,
go away!
Don’t come back,
another day!

My trash can may be happy
full of balled up attempts
to brake this spell
this writers block.

But oh so sad am I.
No clever lines; or beautiful words
can I transfer from my mind,
to the blank paper before me.

Ink tear drops fall
from my neglected pen.
Writers block, please go away.
If not for me, for my poor pen.

Paper left forgotten,
no use for it now;
and so it just fades away
into a pile of unnoticed dust

Oh, please, I’m begging now;
go take a vacation.
I’m sure you could use one,
you’ve been at me forever it seems.

Now when you go-
Oh, please do so soon-
done worry about returning,
if you’re need, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Hey Rainy, this poems great... it made me smile reading it. Here's just a few comments:

Dry spell, dry spell,
go away!
Don’t come back,
any other day!

• Nice intro

 I think that "any other day" should be changed to "another day" just to help the flow.

your like a lovely song, playing in my ear,
that begins to give me inspiration,
but then the radio turns to static,
and I'm left with nothing but annoyance.

 Okay there's something about this stanza. The flow gets messed up around the third line. If this were more of a freeform poem, I wouldn't care as much, but since it's trying to be a little playful and has created sort of a bounce of syllables, you should try to keep that bounce going. This means counting syllables. Yes... Tedious, but worth it when you read a smoother stanza.

My trash may be joyous and fat
full of balled up paper signs of surrender
signs of my will running dry
while trying to escape your barren desert

• To work off my last comment, "My trash can may be joyous and fat." This line not only clarifies what you're saying, but helps keep the syllables... errr.... jubilant.

Ink tear drops fall from my neglected pen.
My paper left forgotten; no use for it now.
Oh, dry spell, you torture us all,
why wont you please just go home!

• Okay this is probably getting annoying so I'm NOT going to talk about how the rhythm of your poetry should be kept constant. And I'm NOT going to mention anything about iambic pentameter. (A term you should look up most definitely.) I'm going to use this bullet to mention something about consistency. You have created a stanza... no a poem... around about two ideas. Those are; A desert/dry spell, sort of a paradise lost. The rest are sub-ideas and therefore should be treated as such. They need a transition. To incorporate a transition into your poetry is to link different ideas together so that they flow. Think of a rickety wooden bridge... with pieces missing and fraying rope. This bridge is connecting two ideas. This bridge is not sturdy, strong, or durable. You want to build a Great Bridge of China that is awesome as well as sturdy strong and durable. (The said bridge can withstand a 12force typhoon....)

Your little cruel games are warring me down
but my pen is stronger then your sword
even now as you wield it at my throat
I'll come out on top, as the writer always does.

 Not only is the writers block's games wearing me down, but this poem is. Try not to get too repetitive. I understand the need to continue ideas in different ways, but to keep mentioning the same thing, but in a different way is quite tedious to read.

I really like this poem and I'm sorry if I was a little harsh. I really like the mood this poem conveys and also the ever constant struggle against writers block it describes. It's adorable and funny and clever and smart.

Just remember, keep your beat constant (syllables), keep your ideas flowing (style and sound) and each stanza relevant.

You're like a lovely song, playing in my ear,
that begins to give me inspiration,
but then the radio turns to static, This sentence sort of breaks the flow of the stanza. Not to mention it's a bit random, because though 'a lovely song' is mentioned, when you write 'playing in my ear' the reader is given the impression that the music is coming straight from headphones or something.
and I'm left with nothing but annoyance.

My trash may be joyous and fat
full of balled up paper signs of surrender
This may have worked better as: 'My trash bin is full of balled up paper,/ signs of my surrender
signs of my will running dry
while trying to escape your barren desert

In this desert you've trapped me in
each grain of sand is another unfinished line
and laid before me I see my failures,
my unsuccessful attempts at escape.

All in all, this is pretty good, though you made a few spelling mistakes towards the end. It's a well done description of writer's block, of writer's bane. :P So great job, and KEEP WRITING!

Hey Silent, as requested, I'm reviewing your poem and picking the one which is best for me. The others I have reviewed, so I don't think I'd be reviewing much. Anyway, here it goes.

You know my format, right? =))

Dry spell, dry spell,
go away!
Don’t come back,
another day!

At first I thought "spell" meant the verb "spell" as in spell a word (LOL). Maybe it's just because I don't feel fine today, or the word doesn't strike one much.

As of the "another day", it kinda breaks the flow and makes a reader think. It was as if you want the spell come back, just not another day, though it's impossible, it's kinda what it seems to mean at first. XD I had to reread it, 'cause it sounded a bit awkward.

But then again, it may be just me.

You tease me with your ways,
giving me just a line or two,
then pull away my muse,
and leave me with empty pages.

Okay, tell me if I'm wrong: the rhyming scheme so far is this...

a, b, c, b...
d, e, e, d...

Seriously, it kind of have broken the flow.

And here,

Your like a lovely song playing in my ear,
that begins to give me inspiration,
but then you turn to static,
and I'm left with nothing but annoyance.

We've been seriously left with no rhyme at all.

My trash can may be joyous and fat,
full of balled up paper <which are?> signs of surrender,
signs of my will running dry,
while trying to escape your barren desert.

Pick: can or may...

I'm not so sure about the 'barren desert'; it seems redundant? O_o

You were but a visitor in my humble home

my dear "friend" writers block.

I think it's writer's block? O_O

OVERALL

Set aside my complete annoyance of the lack of rhyming ( which I honestly think will suit this kind of poem), I LOVED IT! I seriously did. Pfft...you're SR XD. I loved the way you put an end to it. Just try and consider my nitpicks.

KEEP WRITING!
