The Buddy System

Hey, I'm Angie, a newbie looking for a mentor!

I'm 13, in 7th grade and I love to write! My favorite genre at the moment is fantasy, but I enjoy all genres (although I'm very rarely found reading or writing nonfiction). I mostly write short stories (yes, that includes fan fiction), with the occasional novel attempt thrown in, as well as anything we are asked to write in school of course. One of the only things I don't really write is poetry. It's beautiful and graceful writing that I've never really been able to get the hang of. I'm not very good at grammar, character development, or really most of the things necessary to writing a good story, but I'm super eager to learn, and I love it when people critique my work!

Welcome to YWS! I'd be happy to give you a hand, though I don't write poetry much - more on the fantasy novel end of the spectrum. I know the site pretty well, though, and can help you around - I can also give you a hand learning how to review. It takes practice, and no one starts a pro, but it's relatively simple :D When I started, I had no confidence, either - I still often don't, but no one here will bite, and everyone has to start somewhere!

Oh! Heavy or graphic violence, or sexual themes.

Just so you know, instead of quoting, you can tag (as I am to you) which gives whoever you'r tagging a notification that you mentioned them. You just put an '@' and then their name - so for me, @FalconryGirl9086.
