Book characters name: (something creative) Ruby Knight

Gender: Female

Appearance: (what does the Character look like?) Ruby outside the Papermen is a normal thirteen-year old girl. Very normal. As in, has drab, shoulder length, brown hair, brown eyes, light skin spattered with a couple freckles over her nose and cheeks. But in the world of the book, she becomes Ruby Knight, the girl detective. She becomes tall for her age, and her drab hair becomes a sleek, auburn-maroon color. Name: Edward Jameson

Age:(6-67) 35

Book characters name: (something creative) Aurelien Lovecraft

Gender: Male

Appearance: (what does the Character look like?) Edward is a handsome man with a melancholy air about him, with deep blue eyes and thick black hair. As Aurelien, his black hair has been replaced with a deep, rich auburn, which makes the red flecks in his brown eyes very noticeable. It's a little unnerving. Aurelien is a tall man built like a dancer, with a leonine face.

Personality: Edward is a somber, passionless man who lives alone. He likes scotch in the evening and black coffee in the morning. Aurelien is a tortured soul, dealing with unrequited love and plotting his revenge. He is a cold, aloof man who lets no one get in his way.

History: (yours and the characters) Edward grew up in a series of foster homes. This constant bouncing from home to home has left him distant and generally disinterested in others. He has no great love in his life and simply floats from day to day with no real purpose. And as he floated through one cold Tuesday afternoon, he ended up in the library looking for a book on the history of animal experimentation. The call number that the librarian gave him led him to a bizarre book at the very top shelf touching the ceiling. He climbed the rolling ladder and pulled out the old tome... "Papermen? Maybe it's a mistake." He put it back and began his descent, but as fate would have it, an old rung snapped under his feet! Edward reached instinctively for a handhold, but only managed to grasp the spine of Papermen as he continued to fall. The book flew open and Aurelien Lovecraft awoke from a most bizarre dream of falling off a ladder in an unknown library... Aurelien is a man with a dark past (to be revealed in the story I suppose), and is known as the eccentric artist whom most of the town believes to be going mad. He lives in a sprawling Victorian mansion all alone atop a hill. The property is so old that it comes with its own cemetery. Without any maids most of his house has fallen into disrepair, and the local children tell ghost stories about him and dare each other to go knock on his door or spend a night in the cemetery.

other: I figure I'll fill in most of the character details in the actual story. Basically, Edward is an empty man with no goal in life who has fallen into the life of a man with too much passion, too much violence, and too much to do before he dies.
Up for love?: Unless someone ends up being the ghost of Aurelien's dead lover, no.

Name: Morgan Preece
Age:(6-67) 16
Book characters name: (something creative)Rhea Bergen
Gender: Female
Appearance: (what does the Character look like?) Long pointy nose with round eyes and thin, arching eyebrows. Rhea has Medium-curly blonde hair that became infused with shades of pink nice she entered the book. She often times will pull it up into a braids or a high pony-tail to keep it out of her face. She is very tall and thin, about 6 feet in height, and her eyes are a very bright electric blue. (her skin is also really pale and her face turns maroon whenever it's too hot or she exercises)
Personality: Morgan/Rhea can go from being quite and reserved to loud and obnoxious in a second. Shy when you first meet her, Rhea quickly warms up to people who are kind to her and can go a bit overboard on a lot of things. Very Melodramatic, she freaks out over the small stuff- but ironically she's also known for being adventurous and excitable, always up for a challenge and running into things head-on.
History: (yours and the characters) Morgan had a normal life... Well besides her schooling. With severe confidence issues after many years of bullying in the public school system Morgan had no friends and often sought after books and music to use as an escape from reality. Which is when she found 'The Paperman'. Now with a new life as Rhea Bergen, Morgan hopes to start anew and live life to the fullest before she gets sent back... Unlike the others Morgan loves her alternate personality (Rhea)the storybook world and never wants to leave.
other: Oddly enough Rhea has no backstory... her memory is completely blank and nobody seems to know who she is. Maybe the reason for this will come out later? 8) The only thing she knows about herself is her name, age, and that the broken pocketwatch she found in her hoodie pocket was a gift from her father
Up for love?: of course... It would make for a very interesting plot twist :)

Mage Almost

Ally was sitting in the big couch of the New York Collage Library. She sighed as she went to return her book.

What the hell is this? She almost said out loud as a giant book was just blocking the shelve. She sighed and tried to move it but it was to heavy. Ally knew she must look like a complete loser trying to move that giant book so she stopped. The book fell off the shelve and almost crushed her feet. Ally jumped back as the book opened up.

Why are all those pages blank? She thought as she bent down to look though the pages. She flipped to page 423 and was instantly knocked off her feet. She felt her self spinning put couldn't pull her self to open her eyes. Ally felt her self drop and then stop. She slowly opened her eyes and felt her self in the middle of a dirt road.

Where am I? She thought as she looked around. She looked down to see she was no longer in her jeans and sweatshirt. She was wearing a dark blue dress that fell to the floor and it was very 1800's. She cursed as she stood. She looked down the long road to see a young boy and a girl around Ally's age running around. Ally sighed and looked down to see a leather note book sitting not a couple feet away. She picked it up and flipped to the front page. Mage Almost It read.

Ally flipped though the pages to find it completely blank. Till the last page. This is your notebook now. Your new name is Mage Almost. Use this notebook to your advantage. Mage, Ally liked the sound of that name. She went off to the direction of the young boy and the girl.

Odin Stone

Screams could be heard from the kitchen which only meant Landon's family was having another one of their legendary fights. Landon couldn't stand them fighting so he ran to the quietest place he could think of. The Library. He ran to his small town's Library and found it was almost empty. He smiled as he ran though the isle's shooting fake bullet's using his "gun" which was really his hand. Landon hid behind one of the shelves and shoot as bullet at one of the younger librarian's who pretended to play dead. Landon smiled and was glad someone understood him. He waved to the Librarian and he waved back.

Good, now I have an ally Landon thought as he turned and ran back though the isles. Landon had picked up speed and almost knocked over a desk. He ran down the last isle and tripped over a book and landed hard. He stuck up his "gun" and inched slowly closer to the book. He shot at it and smiled as he had "killed" it.

And stay down. Landon thought as he flipped it open. He flipped to the place where the bookmark was to find it blank except a small number at the bottom 423
Landon felt his body drop and he pulled him self into a ball as he felt him self crash onto the grass. Landon stretched his body out and his left hand dropped onto a notebook. He opened it to see 2 words printed inside. Odin Stone.

This is your notebook now. Your new name is Odin Stone. Use this notebook to your advantage. He liked the sound of that name, Sounds like a secret spy name He thought as he heard a thump near by. There lay a teenage girl with green hair. She was wearing this weird outfit. Odin almost almost burst out laughing till he realized he was wearing weird clothing too. He poked her and she looked up slowly.

"Where am I?" She said looking fiercely around. Odin shrugged and handed her the notebook that laid by her. She read it and looked over at Odin.

"We should look for help, shouldn't we?" She said standing up. "I'm Trixie Love, I guess."

Odin opened up the book and pointed to his name, he didn't like talking so he stayed silent. Trixie looked over and her eye's widened. Odin looked to see a girl walking towards them looking very mad.

Spoiler
So everyone will just explain how they get there. :) have fun.

Aurelien Lovecraft

Aurelien Lovecraft woke with a start, unsure of his surroundings. He lay staring up at an elegant lighting fixture hanging from the ceiling, and to his right loomed a large, four-poster bed with dark purple velvet curtains. To his left was an old writing desk, strewn with books and papers. He sat up, knowing surely this must be his room, but...

On the desk a leather notebook lay open, and in it he read: This is your notebook now. Your new name is Aurelien Lovecraft. Use this notebook to your advantage. "Aurelien... But who was I ever before? What is this?" he whispered and backed out of the room. "Am I slipping further down the rabbit hole?" He had the peculiar blessing of being perfectly comfortable speaking aloud to himself. Something buzzed in his memory reminding him that he was alone, and yes, this whole gloomy place was his own. In the hallways mirror he stared into a pale and weary face. His still, red-maned figure in the cloudy glass resembled a portrait, if only not so beautiful. Things were falling into place in the darkness behind his eyes.

And in the brightness outside, it seemed other things were falling into place. Using a spyglass found among his other peculiar bedroom decorations, he watched children gathering on the road at the edge of his property. "Something is going on..." If he closed his eyes, they all looked like her, and he could see himself there too. "Something is not right about this... place." His mind was burning with a frenzy he couldn't name, and he clutched his hair and ran from the room, barreling down a sprawling set of stairs and out the front door. The wind atop the hill was cool and soothing, but it carried the stench of damp earth and old bones from the overgrown cemetery behind the property. "I need to get away from this haunted place. Darling, my love, you know I'll be back. Just let me go for a few hours," he said to no one.

He walked in a daze toward the children.

Spoiler
So, yeah, sorry if this was a little confusing. Basically, Aurelien is pretty crazy. Maybe he could be some sort of bad guy?

Morgan hated to cry, and she hated to feel weak. In class speeches she would stumble over her words and during lunch she would sit off to the side, alone. The hallways were like a battleground where words became bullets and no lines where drawn, but still she never cried... even when her loving grandfather passed merely weeks ago, she never cried. But no matter how hard she'd try, Morgan couldn't control her feelings. Mad, sad, upset, guilty, jealous, afraid, and weak- all of these came and went and the only thing that seemed to block it all out was running. Not physically, but mentally, running from her problems and worries... and by far her favorite running-grounds were that of the library's shelved hallways, which were always so silent and accepting of her odd ways.
Picking up a random books for check out, Morgan's hand happened to brush along the spine of an especially old one. Pulling it out she said it's name aloud:
"The Paperman".
But as she began to flip through it's contents, she realized it was empty. Disappointed and slightly confused, Morgan shook her head and ran her finger along the tops of the creased and ageing paper, her thumb nail catching on the bulk of a dog-eared page.
"Page number 423?"
Morgan paused for a moment and then collapsed, a tingling chill running over the length of her body as the room began to spin so fast that she was forced to shut her eyes and black-out.
As soon as she awoke Morgan gasped... everything was so much more bright, vivid, vibrant, and... Fake. Still wearing her skinny jeans, converse shoes, and red hoodie, Morgan pushed herself onto her feet and brushed the dirt and grass off of her clothing. Beside her was the book again- the same one as she had seen in the library, only except this one was labeled with the name 'Rhea Bergen' instead of the title 'Paper Man'. And it read:
This is your journal now. Your new name is Rhea Bergen.

Trixie Love

My body felt so light. Trixie Love? Such a pretty and elegant name. She thought. The notebook was empty so basically I had no clue where I was. I walked around with a person named Odin and we seen a girl, she looked totally mad. "Wow, I've never seen such a mean look on someone." I told Odin. He looked at me and smiled, "Where have you been?" He asked. I laughed and walked up to her. "Hello I'm Trixie and this is Odin. Who might you be?" The girl looked me up and down but let out a shy Uhhh, "I'm Mage..." she replied. Another girl was walking up to and she looked at us strangely. "Hi, I'm Rhea Bergen." I smiled and said, "Hello I'm Trixie, this is Odin, and she is Mage."

Ruby Knight

Betty woke with a start. Her heart was racing for some reason and drool was plastered on her chin. Nightmare? It had been a strange one. She had been in the library looking for the next Nancy Drew. Instead she was impelled to open a mysterious book to page 423.

Betty rubbed the sleep from her eyes and looked down at the desk where her head had been resting. Files, papers and books littered the desk. She vaugley recalled searching for something, some information. She shook her head and reached into her back pocket and pulled out a notebook. The first page seemed familiar: This is your journal now. Your new name is Ruby Knight.

Now she remembered her nightmare. When she checked in her due books at that library the librarian had greeted her with, "Back so soon Miss Betty Day?" Ruby had a feeling that the librarian had greeted her like that often. It was just a nightmare, nothing but a dream. Your name is Ruby Knight and always has been, Ruby told herself.

But that wasn't true. Her notebook specifically said that Ruby Knight was her new name. Nothing but a dream.

Harper Schellden

I held my sister Nellie's hand tightly as we walked through the bustling town square. She held my hand tightly, and tried to pull me forward. " Hey," I said," Why are you in such of a rush all of a sudden?" I asked. She turned and faced me, " I don't want to be in the square, when Mommy and Daddy, come home," she begged. I hadn't thought about my parents at all today. They were supposed to be coming home early tonight, but that's the precise reason I came out to the library, just so that we could avoid seeing their faces and avoid hearing the same routine every night, " We're sorry for coming home late," or,"We wish that we could be home more often" I knew they were all lies and I highly doubted that Nellie believed any of them either. We walked into the library entrance and were greeted by Mira the librarian, " Hi girls," she said with a smile. " Hi," Nellie and I said in unison. The two of us walked to the back of the library where most of the books were kept. I let Nellie look around as I looked through the shelves of book to see if anything interested me. I was reading the summary of one book till I was interrupted by Nellie pulling on my hoodie. She held up a big book that read " The Papermen" I took the book from her and opened up to a page 423 marked by a book mark. There was a big whole in the middle of the page," Why?" I muttered. The hole grew and sucked both Nellie and I inside. I held my sister close and the two of us just screamed at least until we reached the world of The Papermen. Once we got to this place, my outfit had changed. I was wearing a quarter sleeve red shirt, black pants, and a pair of black boots. There was a sword slung across my back and a brown satchel across my waist. I couldn't see Nellie because she was tightly clutching onto my neck. I looked down at the floor and there were two brown notebooks on the floor, I bent down and picked up the first book. I opened the cover and it read

[i]This notebook now belongs to you. Your new name is Pheobe Pheonix.[i]

I didn't know how I felt about this place, this outfit, and this name, but what I did know was that I had to get Nellie to safety. I walked in direction of the forest hoping to find people or a place to stay.

Nellie Schellden

I held my sisters hand as we walked to our public library. I was excited to go because Mommy and Daddy wouldn't be there. Me and Harper sped up until we reached the library entrance. Ms.Mira said, " Hello," to Harper and I and as always we replied with a "Hi" also. Harper gave me permission to go exploring as soon as we reached the back of the library. I smiled and skipped off leaving my sister at a bookshelf. I came across a library table with a big book on it. I assumed that it was the book Priscilla had bragged about reading, "War & Peace" I wanted to see the book so I skipped over to the table with the really big book. I sounded out the title, " The..Paper...Men" I sat down on the chair in front of the book and opened to the first page, it was blank. " That's weird," I said quietly remembering what Harper told me about staying quiet in the library. I closed the book cover and there was dust that made me cough. I picked up " The Papermen," and went to go find Harper. She was at another shelf reading the back of a book. I walked over to her with the big book and tugged one her sweater. She lowered the hand with the book in it and looked at me. Harper took the book from me, and opened up to page 423. " Why," I heard her mutter. Than a big whole came out of the book and sucked the two of in. My sister held me close to the point that I could hear her heartbeat. I screamed with her and wrapper my arms around her neck. I refused to move from my position just in case something horrible and disgusting happened. After Harper bent down and stood in this place for a while. She started walking away, I held onto her a little tighter afraid of what could happen if I didn't,

Mage Almost

Mage was bored and tired of this place already. She had met other people, but she zoned out about 30 seconds after they started talking. She looked around to see a town not far away. Mage looked north and saw tons and tons of farms and fields.

After inspecting her dress more closely, she had officially decided that she hated this place.

"I'm going to go check out the town." Mage said lamely as she headed off towards the town not 1 mile away. The other girls shrugged but a small boy smiled and followed her. Mage ignored him till he started shooting her with his "gun". Mage glared at him and he glared back pulling out what looked like a cannon. She rolled her eye's and let him shoot her.

Once they arrived at the town the boy had given up and he walked slowly beside her taking in the in tire town.

Odin Stone

Odin was getting tired of listening to the girl's talk so he pretended to shoot birds that flew by. When the girl who was introduced as Mage said she was going to the town, Odin left the other girl's A.S.A.P.

They arrived 10 short minutes later and Odin was amazed by the old looking building's and all the people. He looked down ally's to see people seeing what looked like to be mini dragon's. He was going to run off to find out how much a dragon was, then he remembered that he didn't have any money.

Odin followed Mage as they weaved though the carts and people crowding the street. Mage stopped when the approached a sign that said. FREE HORSE.

Mage smiled and looked over at Odin, "Ever ridden a horse?"

Odin shook his head, "Well, time to learn." She replied climbing onto the black horse.

Odin climbed on her horse with her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Mage stiffened at his touch then slowly relaxed again.

Mage kicked the horse once and it took off running. Odin held onto Mage so tight he was afraid he was going to hurt her, but Mage kept on riding.

They rode out to the fields to see the girl's had left. The horse look them to a small cottage that looked abandoned. Mage hopped off, helping Odin down after her, and walked inside the cottage.

Odin followed after tying up the horse on a tree. The cottage was a little dusty but it would do. Odin and Mage set off to clean this dust ball of a home.
