Here's the profile! I'm using a girl character for once...

Name: Alana McCoy

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Physical Description: Alana's average height, maybe a bit on the tall side, with fair skin, black hair and dark blue eyes. She doesn't usually wear a ton in the way of makeup - just some mascara and maybe base - and generally wears pretty simple clothing as well, like a blouse and jeans.
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Alana is usually reserved and calm with people she doesn't know well, but once she warms up she's an open book and will talk about almost anything. She loves writing fantasies because she always wishes she could have some sort of adventure or quest herself, but fears she wouldn't be well enough. She's loyal to the friends she makes - although she's careful who she calls close friends - and won't take garbage from people quietly. When she's irritated she can tend to let her mouth fly off without thinking first, and if she's really upset she might resort to poetry, which she rarely attempts.

History: It's Alana's third year at Quill's University; she began enrolling there as soon as she and her family heard about it, since she's always loved writing and dreamed of being a published author. She began writing at the age of ten, when a teacher commended her for her essays and narrative assignments and suggested she try writing outside of school - Alana immediately took to it and never stopped. She sometimes misses her family, which still lives in the small Iowan town she grew up in, but has enough friends and commitments at the University that she doesn't mind too much.

Up for love? (orientation please): She's never been in a committed relationship, but romance has always fascinated her. She's guy-oriented (straight).

Anything I forgot?: She's written a handful of short stories and even the occasional novella, almost all of which are fantasy. She's started a few novels, but never finished them (which she feels kind of guilty about).

Let me know if there's anything I missed/should change! ^^

Poof. Finally.

Name: Michael James Quill (goes by Jaime or just Quill, preferring the first one, he is also the son of the Principal)

Age: 19

Gender: male

Physical Description: Jaime is the kind of guy who doesn't really care much of his appearance, yet manages to seem as if he does. His hair is messy, blonde and sometimes sort of wavy - pretty much as it pleases. His eyes are blue, seeming purplish in poorly lit places, and he has sharp and symmetrical facial features. He is tall, slender and aware of the fact that he can seduce by the way he looks if he wishes. He is a fan of old fashioned, wearing mostly black and shades of blue or purple, and his skin is rather pale - in the wrong light, really, he seems genuinely scary. Sometimes in the right light as well.

Personality: Jaime is, lacking the better description, a manipulative young cynic with a side of control-freakery. More or less, all of which he took after his father. He enjoys playing chess and even more playing mind games of all kinds with all kinds of people, used to being in control of everything.
He isn't exactly a loner, but it takes time to get him to spend some of his time on you. If he's interested in some way, he will let you know sooner or later, though it will be on you to determine whether what he did was a sign or not.
He is very, almost obsessively protective towards his younger sister Penelope (16, my npc, as I had hard time deciding if I wanted to play a girl or a guy) and above all holds to the honour of the family. He will stand by his father's side in all his plans, and stay up late in the night, discussing them with him over a glass of wine. However, though they do have unusually good family relationships, Jaime knows very well how to hide things he doesn't want to show to anyone.
His weakest spot is his little sister, though if you hurt her, it won't be Jaime who will cry at the end. He hardly forgives and never forgets, and enjoys teasing and using his abilities.

History:
Well, he grew up a rich kid, beloved son of Mr and Mrs Quill, and began writing at very young age, at first telling stories to his little sister. Already at the age of nine, his father warned him not to read out loud, especially not anything he wrote himself, and a year later Jaime got the proper explanation of that rule.
He, however, didn't stop, but did his best to practice his ability as much as he could. He was always homeschooled, so no one ever knew of what he could do, no one but his family.
Eventually, he has learned to control his voice, so he only reads things in and out when he wants to. He can read out anything, even non material things like coldness or fear, but, though he doesn't get much affected with them, he can't read those back in. He never thinks it's enough, though, as when his mother was sick he couldn't heal her. She died some four years ago, leaving his father even more hating the world and himself even more eager to overstep his own boundaries.
He joined the School for one reason and one reason only - his sister got in the first grade. His father was very happy when he heard, though Jaime made it clear that he won't be letting anyone treat him like no more than regular student if he wishes to be treated differently. He did promise, however, not to show off with his abilities until the other students figure their own out as well.

Up for love: Yes, and straight. He will not, however, hesitate to treat her as an enemy if she acts like one.

Anything I forgot: Jaime won't tell anyone, except for maybe that lover if he finds one, that he can control his powers so much - he will rather pretend to be on the same or just slightly higher level than the rest of the students. His father and sister are the only ones who know. Also, Penelope. She is a typical young girl, also with messy hair and big round glasses that are more there for the image than anything else, wearing dresses, smiling, talking and crying to her brother when there's no one around.

Name: Simon Robert Saunders
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Pysical Description (picture optional, written required): Simon has short, messy, light-brown hair and square wire-rimmed glasses. He has green blue eyes and a pale, freckled complexion. He is tall, about 6'0" and is fairly average in body structure, not particularly big or skinny. He usually wears a pair of loose jeans, beat up converse, a blue plaid shirt and a grey shirt under it.
Personality: In one word: awkward. Around girls, teachers and just about everyone else. While he's much more at home at Quill's than his old school, he still feels out of place. Under the shyness, awkwardness and clumsiness, Simon has a good sense of humor and is very intelligent. While he is not one to do much, in a crisis he will rise to the occasion and take charge. He is afraid that people will read some of his work (the really twisted stuff) because he is afraid that he will become more of a social outcast than before.
History: Simon was raised in a middle-class home with two sisters and a brother. His parents were kind and caring but overworked. Simon got into Quill's with a full- ride scholarship because of his perfect 4.0 GPA and perfect behavior. Simon is thee oldest of the family and misses them very much. He still sees them on holidays. He used to go to a school where he was the outcast of the outcasts, and had 0 friends. Upon arriving at Quill's he still found himself an outcast by his manor but managed to make a few friends and now is fairly happy.
Up for love? (orientation please): Yes, bisexual.
Anything I forgot? Nope.

I wake up at eight in the morning, as usual, ready to start another sleep-deprived school week. At least it was better than at my old school though- I had to get up at 5:30 for school then. And now I actually like school now- the learning part of it anyway.

I threw on my usual ensemble, jeans, a semi-clean grey tee-shirt, with a rumpled blue plaid shirt on top. Grabbing my messenger bag and an orange, I run out the door and across campus, towards the first class of the day, creative writing, a required course here at Quill's.

When I finally got to my class, Mrs. Westley was, surprisingly, already in class. She never arrives on time. I was even more surprised to hear her announcement, once everyone was inside and seated. "Class, we are going to take a break from our children's stories for a while. Instead we are going to work on a horror unit!" She says in her somewhat annoyingly chipper voice- at least it was annoying in the morning when everyone else was just trying to wake up. That aside, I was ecstatic. Horror was definitely my forte. But you never knew what was over the line that sends you to the school psychologist...

Even with the excitement, I still felt that something was... Off. Why would she have us stop in the middle of a story? Plus, I didn't think the horror unit was until the fall. I shoved the thought to the back of my mind. I was definitely over thinking things.

With that I started writing my horror story, making it not too disturbing so that I wouldn't be sent to the psychologist but not no little that it wouldn't be a true horror story. I really did want to write true horror, but if I did that in class...

I spent all day considering this, wondering wether it would truly mean a trip to the psychologist. But in all honesty, I was just trying to distract myself with the abrupt changes in the creative writing curriculum and Egypt they might have been the cause of it.

Awesome! Thanks!!!!!

Name: Robyn Elspeth Holmes

Age: 36

Gender: Female

Physical Appearance: Robyn has a light complexion with hazel eyes. She is fairly tall at 5' 10" and has straight, mid-length light brown hair with blonde highlights. She wears rounded glasses and can be normally be seen wearing jeans and fairly nice T-shirts with a pair of black character shoes. She wears a sapphire ring she had made out of the stone from her old wedding band. She normally wears her hair down with a headband. She can also be seen in a brown pilot's jacket at times. She does not wear makeup often.

Personality: Robyn is an intelligent, creative woman. She can be shy at times, but isn't afraid to stand up for others. She is very protective of her students, especially of her daughter, Raven. She is not only a play writing teacher, she also writes her own novels and plays in her spare time. Robyn enjoys music and travel, and is trying to put together one of the plays she wrote, to be performed at the school. She is brave and not afraid to take risks. She loves spending time with her daughter and since they have a lot in common, they can always find something to do. Robyn doesn't trust many people, and doesn't socialize much with people she doesn't know. Except for her students, Robyn doesn't feel comfortable being herself around people she doesn't know well. Robyn is an exceptional singer and plays the drums. She is a big hockey fan, but isn't very fond of other sports. She is a fairly good cook and baker. She is very supportive of her daughter and all of her students and as a teacher, she is generally likable to her students. She is firm but fair. She isn't afraid of much, and when she is scared, she is good at hiding it. She puts the safety of others ahead of that of herself and is a generally caring person.

History: Robyn had a pretty bad childhood. Her parents gave her up at birth. She spent the first eighteen years of her life, in and out of foster care. She didn't let the circumstances define her. She had good grades all throughout school, even though she often switched schools and was teased mercilessly. When she was a senior in high school, she met the love of her life-or so she thought. She dated him for a year and a half and they got married when she was twenty years old when she got pregnant with her only daughter. Everything was fine with him at first, they even went to the same college. However, his true colors came out once they were married. He treated her like dirt and started drinking. She later found out that he was cheating on her. Then, came the verbal abuse, and as the drinking increased so did the violence that came soon after. Afraid for her life, and that of her daughter, who was equally affected, she divorced him at the age of 22. He wasn't happy with her decision to leave him, so he decided to get back at her by trying to keep their young daughter. The custody battle lasted about a year, during which time, Robyn and her daughter remained in the house with him; Raven, because the father had current custody, and Robyn, because she was afraid to leave her daughter alone with him. When the long battle was finally over, and Robyn could take Raven away from that horrible man, they moved far away and she got her degree, then got a job at Quill's where she has worked, and lived with her daughter ever since. Robyn wants desperately to find love again, but is afraid of getting hurt again, for she still has deep scars, both emotional, and physical.

Up for love?: Yes, but is slightly stand off-ish. She is straight.

Anything else: Um..... I don't think so. If there's dorms here could she live in one with her daughter??? If not then they have an apartment right off campus.

Robyn Holmes

I get up early just like I do every morning. I pull on a pair of jean and a short sleeve teal blouse with my favorite pair of character shoes and my pilot's jacket. I grab my sapphire "wedding" ring and my stuff for my classes today. I put the ring on my finger and leave my bag by the door. I finish getting ready and walk into Raven's room. I wake her up before going down to my classroom. One of the benefits of working here is that I get a staff dorm, basically an on-campus apartment, it's a lot more convenient being right upstairs. I put away my lesson plans for the day and a few other things before going to get some breakfast. Wheaties and milk, breakfast of champions! Actually it's just what they had in the cafeteria, but I see no difference. I'm excited for my classes today, we're starting projects and I can't wait to see what the kids come up with. They're all so talented, I see myself in a lot of them, writing wise, not the hell I went through when I was younger. After I finish eating I head back to my classroom and decide to kill the remaining time before class starts to rearrange the desks and make new seating charts for all of my classes. Oh what the heck?! They can sit wherever they want today, they'll get new seats tomorrow. As they start coming in I tell them all to sit wherever. Then the bell rings. I stand up in front of my first period class and look at them. "Let me tell you guys about our next project. I know you're going to love it! I just know it!" Of course they're going to love it! I love it, and I never assign them a writing project without doing one for myself. I explain to them that they will be working in groups to write and perform a one-act, but not just any one-act, fantasy. It can be any kind of fantasy, the point is to be way out there, as for performing it, that's just so much for the lines, they'll do the best they can with that. They can add any element to it if they want, mystery, horror, whatever! This is just so I can see what they can really do, in groups. They have until next Monday to write it, we'll discuss presenting after that. After I explain that to each of my classes, I sit back and let them work.

~Jaime Quill

And then, there it was.
Tall building seeming black against the pale, pinkish sky of dawn, with lights behind only a few of the windows. It was early, the air was crispy and the wind played with his hair and clothes. Gripping the hold on his bag and with a smirk on his face, he counted in his mind.

Three, two, one..

The door opened, almost as if on command, showing to people. One of them, the girl a few years younger than him, ran over and hugged him without a warning, grinning from ear to ear. The other was a man, older than him, and he walked in a way more suitable for his title.

"Jaime," he said, with a little smile. "Take off that grim look. This school is unlike any others, you know that."

"I'm not here to-"

"Oh it's so good to have you here," the girl interrupted, letting him go and taking his luggage from his hands. "I'll take these. You will be staying in another part of the building, but we will see each other a lot. I am so happy to finally be here, how could you miss this when you were offered the place for the first time?" Before he managed to y anything, she ran back to the building, and the man stopped him as Jaime made a move to follow her.

"She is safe here," he said. "This is Quill's school, my school - you are both at home here."

"I'm not here to learn, Dad," Jaime answered, meeting his father's eyes. They were almost the same height, Jaime being a bit shorter. "I am here to look after her."

"You are also here because I need you. This is the year. It will happen soon, and I am thrilled to have my son on my side."

"Always a pleasure," Jaime grinned. "For how long will I need to hide it?"

"Don't worry," the Principal smiled the same dark smile. "You will get to show off soon enough."
*

"Class, if anyone could tell me, what makes a good horror story?"

Jaime did his best not to fall asleep. So far, he only had experience of being taught by his father and himself - neither of which could have possibly been so boring. Horror stories, however, were pretty much right up his street, especially knowing what that will lead to. He grinned again, playing with the pen in his hand, like he'd always do when he'd think. Not taking his eyes off the teacher, he raised his hand.

"Yes, mister..."

"Quill," he said, smiling to himself at the looks he got. I am perfectly fine with everyone knowing who I am from day one. "Jaime Quill, that is. I just arrived earlier today."

"Well then nice to meet you," the teacher said, and a few of the students nodded. Jaime didn't pay them much attention. "You wanted to give an answer to my question?"

"Oh, yes." Jaime's voice was calm, as it always was, but still with a hint of teasing - he just couldn't help it. "Making it real, is what every writer strives towards. Making the readers believe, controlling one's emotions through another's words, causing joy or sadness with some ink on a piece of paper. Horror writers feed their imagination with fear of their readers, pulling nightmares from minds and making them live on the pages of their notebooks. Without looking deep enough into the heart - or the soul, if you wish - of the reader, the writer of horrors would be noting but a liar who tries to comfort himself by making fears seem unimportant."
