Now, you and I and your mother all know it's easy to get praised for posting a lot of reviews on YWS. There are three different leader boards for you to top on the front page, weekly contests, and YWS Cups being run to count who can rack up the most in a certain time frame, but ain't writin' about quality over quantity?

With that in mind, usher in a new sort of feature: Review of the Month.

Each month, a moderator will be specified in the space beneath this introduction. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to think back on all the reviews your eyes have wandered over during the past month, pick out the author of the cream of the crop, and send the following form to the aforementioned moderator.

Then, each month we'll recognize the winner of majority vote with a celebratory thread and possibly virtual cupcakes. Scratch that. Definitely virtual cupcakes.

Here's the current information.

Send nominations from the month of February via PM to: beckiw

Fill out this form as the body of the PM:

Name of Reviewer:
Link to Exemplary Review:
Reason(s) for Nomination:

Votes are accepted from GMT 12:00 AM on February 21st to GMT 11:59 PM on February 28th.

Here's a nifty time zone converter if you're lost as to what that means for you.

Get out there and recognize the reviews that have changed the way you see writing. Give some credit to the kids who sit there for hours working through the pieces you post. Whatever the reason, get your nominations in and let the celebration of quality begin!

Reason(s) for Nomination: This review was really good, constructive and descriptive. Rest things were covered by some other good reviews which I respect but this one is pretty close to my choice for nomination of reviewer of the month.

Can I nominate myself? If so I choose to do that:

Name of Reviewer: Starleene
Link to Exemplary Review: work.php?id=99223&sid=abd632122b6079eda50df3e550894948#c346727
Reason(s) for Nomination: I spent two days on this review. I saw that the author had a lot of potential and I wanted to offer as much constructive critisism as I could.

Okay! Some things to be cleared up in here.

First, it is strongly preferred that nominations are PMed to the listed moderator each month. I've added reminders of that in the main post. So it would be cool if Shino and Blakey could slip their nominations into a PM to me now and remember that next month there's a specific time during which nominations are accepted (which started a day after y'all posted~).

As for your question, Starleene, that's not quite in the spirit of the thing. Hopefully someone else will stumble on your review and nominate it, but in the meanwhile you should sift through other members' reviews and nominate one of your fellow YWSers!

Hope this clears some things up,
and remember that votes are open

GMT 12:00 AM on January 24th to GMT 11:59 PM on January 31st.

Which means they are

NOW OPEN !
