Hey guys! Reviews are rough of on me, writing them, reading them, everything about them. But as I write more, I've learned some methods for recovering from reviews. Not just 'bad' ones, ones where people are meanys and stuff, but also some 'good' ones, where people go super in depth and seem to point out every flaw in you writing.

Tip numero uno.

You are not your writing. When someone gives you a review, hopefully they aren't just attacking your characters or trying to be cruel, if they are, we'll handle them next. The point of a review is to help show you where you can improve your story, and where you can improve as a writer. It's not saying, "You are bad at this!' it's saying, 'I know you can do better than this!'

Tip B

Ignore the mean ones. That's it. Just ignore them. If you feel like a review is just meant to make you feel bad, don't give it the time of day. Or, you can take tip numero uno into account and do you best to find the diamonds in the rough. But if you feel like it's only going to make you mad/sad/or vengeful, STOP. Just stop reading on the spot. Let's try it now.

I don't think you should've wasted your time writing this. It wasn't very good, and neither are your. Your story is bad, and you should feel bad. The characters are all Mary Sues and Gary Stus. No one likes a MS and GS, so just stop writing them. You don't know any basic grammer skills at all. And you cant sepll.

Did you do it? Good.

Tip III

Don't take yourself seriously. What do I mean?
What I mean is, no matter how seasoned a writer you are, you can always improve. Don't let you ego get in your way of good advice. This doesn't just apply to writing, this applies to life. Sometimes it's best just to have a good laugh at yourself and understand that we all make mistakes. That's why you wanted a review anyway, right? To help you find mistakes?

Tip 3.14

Step away from the computer!

That's right, just walk away and give yourself some time to breath. Think about something else for awhile until you feel ready to come back to your writing and the review.

This is tip five. Read tip five.

This is it. The big cahuna of tips. This is the red button, the chosen one, the last resort. This is it.

Write your own review of the review. Don't censor it one bit, write everything you feel about the reviewer and the review. How much you hate them, how their mother is a horrible person who should be ostracized to Jupiter, how... how... GRAAAAUUURRRRGGHHH!!!!

Now erase it.

Feel better? I hope so.

Do you guys have any tips for getting over a review?
Review unto others as you would have others review unto you.

Don't panic!

Also, Shino!
