City by the Sea 2

Melissa

I look up to him and smile, kissing his cheek. "I love you so much." I say.

Adam

Soon a guy comes walking up to us. "Are you the one asking about Joe?" He asks.

Joseph

I smile and kiss her cheek in return, "Love you too, Mel."

``
Grace

I nod when Adam does, "Yes, we just have a few questions. His family contacted us. They're worried. Has he been acting strange lately?"

Melissa

I smile and lean against him again.

Adam

The guy crosses his arms. "Yes. He spends so much time with his new girl. He acts really strange when he is not by her side or when anyone beside her gets near him." He says.

I nod and cross my arms. "How does he act strange? " I ask.

Joseph

I rest my head atop hers and sigh.

```
Grace
The guy shrugs, "He gets all stiff and distant until she comes back. They have this weird make-out session, and then they bolt."
Melissa
I smile and wrap my arms around him. I listen to everything, making sure I do not hear them.
Adam
I some how manage to cover my smile with a look of concern. "And has this been going on for a while, or what?" I ask.
Joseph
I smile wider and keep her close, closing my eyes again.
``
Grace
I suppress my smile as well as the kid shrugs, "Just the past few days."
Melissa
I lay my head on his chest and focus on his heart beat, trying to relax.
Adam
I nod and smile. "How long has this girlfriend been here?" I ask. "Do you think he could be acting this way because of her?" I ask him.
Joseph
I run a hand through her hair to relax us, keeping my eyes closed.
```
Grace

He shrugs again, "She's only been here a few days as well, so maybe."

Melissa

I smile and let him. "It has been a while since I was a blonde." I say.

Adam

I smile. "Do you know where he might be now. His parents are very worried. We really want to check on him to make sure he is safe." I say.

Joseph

I smile and nod, "I like you blonde."

``
Grace

The kid thinks before shaking his head, "Have they tried calling him?"

Melissa

I smile and kiss him. "Thanks, it feels more...me." I say

Adam

I shake me head. "Do you mind calling him for us? " I ask. "Just ask him where he is and ask him if you can crash at his place. We do not want him do worry about his parents. Just act like we are not here." I say. He nods and I look to Grace and make sure she is tracking the call.

Joseph

I kiss her back, still smiling, and nod, "Brings back memories."

```
Grace
I reach in my jacket and pull out my PDA, tracing the call as soon as the kid makes it.
Melissa
I smile and nod. "What is your favorite memory of us?" I ask.
Adam
Once I hear it ringing, I excuse myself and and go get the car. I get a new gun from the back and then get in. I pull up the the front and wait for Grace.
Joseph
I smile and close my eyes again, thinking. Just as I'm about to speak, the phone in my pocket starts to ring.
```
Grace

I thank the kid and get in the car with Adam, leaving the kid there confused.

Melissa

I sigh and let him take the call. I lay back on the arm rest of the couch and wait for him to get done.

Adam

I smile and zoom off, happy this moment is finally here. My heart pounds and I listen for her to give me directions.
