Before any of you start, yes, the plot is similar to "The Hunger Games", but Battle Royale came out 8-9 years before the first HG book was even published (The Battle Royale novel was released in 1999, movie came out in 2000). And the B.R. movie is more like a Tarantino film than....whatever The Hunger Games film was. That being said, Hunger Games fans are welcome here, as they would be familiar with the concept.
Backstory

(Please note that I am using the movie's (somewhat poorly written) backstory for this storybook. While I heard the book gave a better explanation for the events, I have not read it.)
In 1998, The Japanese nation collapsed. With unemployment at an all time high, the truancy and Juvenile Delinquency rates were on the rise. The youth of the nation were becoming more violent by the minute, leaving many adults too afraid to even walk outside without fear of being attacked by the kid down the street.
Panicked, the government passed the Millennium Reform Act. Otherwise known as the B.R. Act. It states that 4 times a year, a class of high-schoolers is randomly selected to compete in a fight to the death in a "Battle Royale" until only one student remains. Most students are lured into the fight by being told that their class is going on a field trip, only to find themselves kidnapped by government soldiers.
With many other countries facing a similar problem (along with overpopulation), their governments found that adopting the B.R. act would be the cheapest solution to the problem. While there are some protests against this, the B.R. act isn't well-known enough among the public to have a major opposition. Most parents are usually told that their kid died in a bus crash.

Plot
Unfortunately for you, you decided to show up to school on the day of the big trip, only for your class (and your class only) to be kidnapped by your country's government. The only competitors in the Battle Royale who aren't your classmates are either winners of one of the other games who were forced to compete again, or people who willingly volunteered to compete (sometimes these may be the same people). The rules of the game will be explained once everyone posts their characters.

General SB rules are applied, but here are the exceptions:
- While swearing is allowed, I ask that you at least attempt to keep it tasteful. Unless being a foul-mouth is one of your character's traits, I do not expect to see a bunch of "cluster f-bombs" on your post.
Violence is not only allowed, but encouraged because A) This is about a fight to the death, and B) it would kind of stay true to the spirit of the movie. All I ask is that you do not go into extremely graphic detail about how you beat someone to death with a frying pan.
Kind of the same deal with sexual situations (even though there were none in the film). If you're going to have them, please do not go in to detail about it.
Multiple character creation is encouraged, especially those of you who want your character to live for a large part of the competition. This is a deathmatch. Therefore, people need to be killed off. It would kind of ruin the point (and one of the rules explained later on) if the game were to stretch on for a long period of time and nothing were to happen.
And lastly, if you are going to kill someone, please ask for the creator's approval first.
Here are two trailers for Battle Royale, so you can at least have some ideas for your characters and actions, and what to expect. By the way, I wasn't kidding when I said it was like a Tarantino film. If you cannot handle scenes of violence, I recommend that you do not watch them.
