The rock climbing instructor fixes my harness and hands me a helmet. After finally getting my vacation days from the CIA, I can finally relax. I look up at the mountain as the instructor goes on and on about what to do and what not to do. “Listen buddy, I have been rock climbing before. I know what to do.” I snap at him.

“Ms. Charlotte...” He begins.

“Do not call me that unless you do not want to live to see another day. My name is Char.” I say shifting my weight from one hip to another.

“Well Ms. Char, we have to go over this with everyone.” He says.

I roll my eyes and act like I am listening. Once he tells me to go, I start up the mountain. I soon realize that my upper body strength is not what is was a year ago. “I should not have stopped working out.” I say to myself.

I strap the harness on and look at the instructor.
"Are you ready?"
"Does it look like I'm ready?"
"Not really."
He strapped the bungee cord to the harness. I took a deep breathe and sighed. Then I did something stupid. I looked down and my knees began to tremble.
"Why am I doing this? I'm so stupid," I whisper, hoping no one will hear me.
"It's actually fun. I won't let anything happen to you."
"Promise?"
"I promise."

Sebastian;

I fix my one piece I bought a few days ago before I did this. Before I started my rapid river training. I started, as recommended, at rapid 1 and prepared my goggles over my head. Before I dived in, I heard a few boys whistle my way. "Stupid boys." I thought and rolled my eyes inside my goggles. The entire motion was what I was used to, except for the ferocity of the water around me. I worked my muscles harder, and they started burning sooner, but I loved the feeling.

I got to a checkpoint to get a breather. I saw a two people on top of a rock structure, one had a harness with a bungee chord. "Crazy people..."I I thought aloud.

I was already waiting at the top of the rock structure waiting for the other people. I rolled my eyes when I saw some lady struggling to scale the formation. This wasn’t even the most difficult course. I stood up, and began tapping my foot impatiently.

“Hey lady, you wanna hurry it up a little? I’m waiting up here getting bit by some bug, or whatever. Hey are you listening?”

The woman glared at me. I smirked, this was going to be hilarious.

I hope the bugs eat you to death. I give her a glare and stop climbing. “No I would rather just sit her and admire the beauty of the huge rock.” I smile evilly and look at the rock. “Such a nice rock.” I say. I roll my eyes and continue ever so slowly up the side of the mountain.

I snicker. “It is a nice rock isn’t it? Take your time then! I’ve got bug spray anyhow.” I say a bit sing songy. I pulled out my can of bug spray and pretended to spray myself with it.

Like I’d ever been bitten by bug, they’d die if they tried. I walked back over to the edge where the lady, Char or something was still climbing. I sprayed it directly above her till she was coughing. I smiled.

“What’s a matter lady? You okay or are to too old for this?” Maybe this vacation wasn’t as bad as I thought it going to be.

Oh this girl is going to pay. I start wheezing and coughing. I use one hand to hold on to the rock and the other to hold my throat. The person climbing next to my asks me if I am okay. “I have asthma.” I manage to say. I look up to the girl and her face draws blank.

The man push me to the top and I stand up, coughing hysterically. The girls face is white as a ghost. I grab the bug spray from her and throw it on the ground. I stomp on it hard, the repellent inside streaming out the side.

I smile and pick it up. “Next time it's your face and by the way, I'm twenty one.” I say.

Sebastian;

I kept looking up when I saw the two girls fighting over a bottle. Was it a bottle? It looked like a bottle. I held my breath and jumped back it, letting the rapids carry me a little ways a away before I started paddling, and then before I started swimming against the current.

Something caught my eyes just as I was about to jump.
"Are they fighting over a bottle?"
"Looks like it."
"Idiots. Are you ready for me to jump now?"
"Sure thing."

I backed up a little and took off running. As the edge came closer, the faster I ran. Three more steps. Three, two, one. And I jumped.

Sebastian;

I kept swimming, like normal, but then something hit me in the back, hard. I soon recognized it was a human after we were carried down the river a little. I pulled them out of the water and onto the shore next to me. I was breathing heavily, and so were they.

Amos: Above Ground Obstacle Course

Right foot, left foot, right foot, I thought. Thinking simple things helped clear my mind, and made me forget about how high I actually was. The height, the raging river below, even my friends following behind me soon disappeared in my head. All that was left was the balance beam under my feet, me, and the sketchy "safety" vest hugging me. The vest and the chord attached to it didn't feel very durable, but I couldn't let myself chicken out now. My girlfriend was watching. I had to make it to the other platform. The vest would keep me from falling, I was sure of it. They tested these things, right?

Left, right, left, right foot. Almost there. I drew in a deep, shaky breath. I usually love a good thrill, so why was I suddenly feeling butterflies in my stomach? Why were my breaths turning into uneven gasps? Was I actually scared? No, I couldn't be.

My palms grew sweaty as I stumbled a bit on the beam, and my heart skipped a beat, but I caught myself. I'm a star soccer player. I can keep my balance easily. Looking ahead, I saw the instructor waiting on the wooden platform to unhook me, and send me to the next task. But she never got that chance.

The metal strip under me was slightly slick from the spray springing up from the river, and I lost my footing again. Both my shoes slipped entirely off the course, and as I fell away from the balance beam, I felt the chord tug against my chest as it caught me from plummeting a good six feet. My heart was beating like a chorus of snare drums, while my ears were flooded with the loud roaring of the whitewater below.

"Amos! Are you okay!" Panic filled my friends' voices as they shouted over the river's mighty rapids.

I was shocked and slightly bruised, but perfectly fine.

"Help's coming, Amos! You'll be okay!" my girlfriend reassured me. She sounded terrified.

I dangled there for a few moments, but the harness and vest was digging into my skin. I figured I could pull myself back onto the balance beam, then I would be a hero in my girlfriend's eyes. I would be strong.

However, that was my mistake. When I swung my arms out, the chord gave way slightly before snapping entirely. Shock consumed my body as I realized what had happened a split second before I was about to hit the water. The screams from the obstacle course above were drowned out as I struck... a rock? Had I hit a rock in the river? No, it was a person!

I couldn't breathe or feel anything for a few seconds, and black and yellow specks clouded my vision. When I came to again, I felt hands pulling me to the sandy shore.

Just thought I should include this piece of information, but Sebastian's a girl xD Just to dissipate any confusion.

Sebastian;
I coughed up water and my breathing evened out. I noticed the man was wearing some sort of vest that looked like it was constricting his airways. I somehow managed to get it off of him as he moved a little. "Hey, hey can you hear me?" I shook him and pressed his chest a few times, like the CPR instructor had taught me.

OH, geez! I'm so sorry, Artsy! I should have read your first post a bit more carefully. Sorry. :/ Lemme edit that real quick, then I'll come back to this...

Amos: On the Shore

I blinked away the spots in my vision as a girl pulled the vest off of me. I coughed a few times before my breathing and my heart rate returned to normal. My entire body was aching, but I tried to ignore the pain. I sat up slightly, and that made my brain feel swimmy. My head crashed back down to the sand where I stayed for a few moments, resting. How did I even survive that fall without any broken bones? I wondered. Then I remembered there was a girl! I had landed on a girl!

My eyes snapped open and I glanced to my left. Sure enough, there was a young woman sitting on the shore next to me, propped up on her elbow, wearing a swimsuit. She must have done the whitewater course, I thought.

"Are you okay?" I croaked, slowly standing up. While I was shaking water out of my short blond hair, she responded.

"I should be asking you the same question." She arched her eyebrow.

I laughed, stretching. "I'm kind of shaken and dazed, but okay. Just really sore. But I was the one who landed on top of you! You could have drowned! Are you alright?" Then I almost slapped my face with embarrassment as she returned my laugh. I act like such a big brother sometimes to other people, I guess because I am a big brother.

Haha, it's all good xD It happens, don't worry about it.

Sebastian;
I chuckled lightly, "Of course. But then again, you're lucky to have landed on me and not some amateur swimmer." I strung my long black hair of water and tied it back again. "Actually, you're lucky to have landed on me in general." I motioned to he vest. "That thing could've choked you." I smirked, "And they call them safety vests. What rubbish." I laughed.

I held out my hand, "I'm Sebastian."
