Xander | Outside the Nurse's Office |

It didn't take long for the nurse to usher them all outside, saying that she'd take care of the injured boy, and that was fine by him. If he was outside the office, it would be easier to slip away.

There was a lot of weird stuff going on and Xander was just trying to stay out of it all. But everyone seemed to insist on including him. Like the girl in the tree who probably wasn't even a girl at all.

Xander held his basketball and shuffled his feet before glancing out the window of the nurse's office. She was there again. She put a finger to her lips once more and Xander decided she must be one of them and felt the contempt and fear shiver through his body.

"I think he'll be alright," the blonde boy said.

"Probably has rabies, you know, from the dog that didn't bite him," Xander joked. The other two didn't look very amused but that was their problem, not his. "Look, this doesn't really involve me, so maybe I should go now." He was trying not to make a big deal of it, but whether these guys were normal or not, it felt like he'd got out of the fire and into the frying pan. And there was him thinking he'd been so lucky to escape from Danny and the crew.

"You want to go? Just like that?" The girl was short and had short, brown hair but what he really noticed about her was the bright blue eyes. Like robin eggs. He remembered finding one as a child and how he'd tried to hatch it in the airing cupboard.

"Yeah I want to go. Look, I don't know who you guys are and I'm not gonna repeat any of what you told me. I- I just want to go. Please?" Xander tried to make himself look small for the second time that day and hoped his ginger hair was doing him some good. It was funny to think that the hair he'd hated so much, the hair that had driven him to take self defence classes was now his best weapon.

Addison

Addison walked down the hallway in a bit of a daze. The mantra "I'm sooooo hungry" was stuck in her head and she couldn't get it out. All the humans around her were either boys trying to get her number or girls trying to get inside her clique. " But i don't even have a clique" Addison thought dazedly. But the one thing everyone seemed to be talking about was the "rumor" that she had been streaking down the football field during practice and the fake dog attack that happened to that sophomore.
"God I just wanna be alone..." Addison whined to herself.
" Sorry princess but we can't all get what we want. Well except for me of course" Danny said with a chuckle.
"UGH this day just keeps getting better and better doesn't it?" Addison said with annoyed sarcasm.
" I bet it does for you little Ms. Tigress" Danny smirked.
" Danny what the hell do you want? You've already embarrassed the poop out of me by rejecting and you failed to also tell me that your half leopard." Addison said exasperated.
" You know little Addy, I can get you the food you want without it having to get spoiled by little Lee Ramos" Danny said, totally ignoring what she had said.
" You know she had a reason for breaking us up and she was right. We are on school grounds, remember?" Addison replied.
" Addison, when I look into those devilishly golden eyes of yours I can tell that you really don't care about any of those dumb rules she made. And I can also tell that when you were in that fight you were going to kill him." Danny said with a tiny smirk.
"Your right, I was going to kill him. But that was just my tiger side taking over. I would never kill another one of us. But I can honestly say that he looked good enough to eat. And I don't think that he would've minded me taking a little nibble here and there" Addison says with a dreamy sigh, the thought of his eyes making her blush.
Danny looks at her with surprise. "You know i will never understand how you can go from flirtatiously telling me I'm your new crush to fawning over a sophomore for Pete's sake" Danny said with a shake of his head.
" Hey man don't forget that you totally dissed me for that weird little human freshman you like to keep on your hip." Addison says with a flip of her hair.
" Come on Addy. You know I was only doing that for her benefit. Don't forget that when you came to me she was right there. How am i supposed to manipulate her if she see's me falling for every incredibly sexy girl here" Danny said with a playboy grin.
" Ha don't make me laugh. One, don't try to flatter me it won't work. And two, Danny I can see you becoming like every Edward and Bella out there. I guarantee that by the end of this year you'll have fallen in love with her, and she'll have fallen in love with you no matter what you are blah blah blah. Love is sooooo overrated." Addy said with yet another flip of her hair.
Danny threw back his head and laughed and put a friendly arm around her shoulders.
Addy shook her head and turned to him as she reached her ninth period class. As she turned the knob Danny leaned down and said "If you change your mind about any of what we talked about meet me in the chorus room after school" Danny said.
He walked away and Addison never looked back.

Kitsune

~ Kitsune sat pretzel-style on top of the lockers in the boy’s locker room. No one had noticed, probably due to the fact that nobody looked up anymore. While the others were in there, she lay down on top of them so she wouldn't hafta see guystufs. She didn't know what brought her in here, but she followed her instincts no matter how stupid they sounded.

Like this one time when she was living alone with her brother. They had found this perfect place in a condemned building; it was warm, most of the roof and walls were intact, and it still had supplies in it. At first it was great, but then she had this weird itching feeling they should leave. My brother was such a sweetheart, she thought smiling. When she had mentioned this to him, he immediately agreed to leaving. One day later, and the city tore the place down. She chuckled at the memory.

"What the heck are you doing here?!"

She looked down from her perch to see that kid from earlier, the one with the curly red hair and major freckles. She laughed again. It was a funny sight, seeing him look all embarrassed and blushing she couldn't help it. It was probably because his shirt was off and he had been starting to take off his pants when he noticed her there. She laughed even harder, falling sideways on the lockers so much that she fell off on the other side.

She remembered his face when she made the 'Shhh' face at him again in the nurses office. And now this. He must be completely freaked out now. She stood up, making she her cap was in place, then came around the bend of the lockers. He was still standing there, out of shock no less. She walked up to him, standing at his side, facing the opposite way he was looking.

"Comon, what do you think I'm gonna do, bite ya?" Kitsune smiled slyly "Like that dog that attacked the other kid?" She couldn't help it, she laughed at her own joke.

He stood stiff a little longer, then sort of tried to make himself look small. She laughed again.

"Ya know, you can't fool me." She said shaking her head smiling

"And you can't fool me" He said right back "I know you're one of them"

She stepped closer to him "And what do you think I am, exactly?" she said, looking him straight in the eyes

She had to make sure he wouldn't tell. She was pretty sure that he wouldn't, but in her position, she couldn't risk exposure. Besides, messing with this one was fun. ~

Xander | Boy's Locker Room |

He stared into her deep, brown eyes because he didn't really have anywhere else to look, not with her standing right up close to him. He could smell her. He was very aware that he was wearing no shirt and the zipper of his pants was still pulled slightly down and she was there.

It wasn't that Xander hadn't been with girls before, because he had. But not like this and could you even call it a girl? It was wrong. "You're wrong," he said, backing off a step. "One of them experiments." He spat the word out like it tasted bad in his mouth and then he wished that he hadn't. Because this wasn't keeping a low profile and this wasn't being a good little boy and doing what he was told.

"That's what you think I am?" The girl stepped closer again and Xander almost fell over his own legs as he tried to back up again. Then he stumbled and righted himself and had to grab hold of his pants that felt like they were slipping down. The girl laughed at him, a soft and tinkly sound like waterfalls.

"I've got to be somewhere," Xander said quickly and he grabbed his shirt and ran.

"Your zipper's still down!" the strange girl called after him.

Xander stopped running once he was outside and he ducked behind a tree, then looked up to check its branches for red haired girls. It was empty. Xander pulled up his zipper and shrugged his shoulders back into his shirt. He was still looking up. Maybe he half expected the red haired girl to have followed him and was watching for her, but what he saw instead was a little kid with sharp features and hair the colour of coal. Sitting in a tree.

"What is it with you girls and trees?" Xander grumbled to himself.

Elodie-English class

Elodie sits at the back of the classroom. Trying so very hard to listen, but all to aware of how close everyone seems to be. Without the syrum from the lab, she now fully understands what it's like to feel like a time bomb.
After a few more feeble attempts, Elodie gives up on paying attention, and averts her gaze to the clock on the wall. Feeling as if each tick tok ramps up the body heat of everyone in the classroom.
Until the bell rings. Relieved, she bolts from her seat and into the hallway. Shrouded in black she moves like a shadow. She deposits her books in her locker; careful not to touch anyone around her.
Only when Elodie gets outside does she realize, she's not the only one who escaped here.
The place is crawling with mutants.
