Here is the Work-In-Progress: Image

Original Size

And here is Version 1: Image

Original Size

I don't exactly like Version 1, and I'm planning to make a Version 2 that looks more like the WIP. But I'd like your opinion on it :L

Credits to Tasuku Iizuki for the render.

Okay, I'm gonna start off by saying that I'm really not the biggest fan of manga in general, but I think this is suppose to be more of a graphic design piece, so I'll just stick to that. But I'd also like to start off with, I don't really like either very much, but it's mostly due to the manga chick.

I think both pieces are well done, the lighting and colours are well chosen, and I like the fading look of the second one. But there's nothing particularly interesting about either, they're nice to look at, yes, but they don't really say much. They're just a manga girl with a pretty background.

And one other thing I could mention is the white line around the left side of the girl, like an outline. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not, but it doesn't really help the piece much, (and rather, takes away from it).

Well done, but again, not very eye-catching.
frickdamn, son.

I agree with Satan. It's pretty, but not very eye-catching. But you've certainly got potential.

Hm, this is tough to critique. If your goal was to get opinions on your editing skills, you should've shown us what the bare image looked like before you started working with it. I assume you didn't draw the image from scratch, but I could be wrong x)

I think the top picture looks a lot better than the second one, it's a lot brighter and more eye-catching. The bottom one just looks a little dingy; there are still colors there, but they are so grayed out that it's difficult to tell what the colors actually are.

Even though I like the first picture more, I still think it could use some work. I almost think that it's too bright, and areas like the skin, skirt, and background kind of blend together in a sea of white. I think there should be a little more shading or definition of some sort. In the second picture, the background stands out nicely against the character and it's not so hard to differentiate between all the white areas. Because the character is so pale, I think that's why the artist originally made a darker, more colorful background.

Hope I helped!

Oh they know nothing about manga. You do though. It's exactly how manga SHOULD be. You should go proffesional. Mangas a big fad now! Do you do chibis? I LOOOOOVE drawing chibis!
*may my luck be with you*

Nicely composed. You have very nice anatomy and style. Personally, I prefer the first image. I think the other is to busy, and takes away from the subject.
You have good potential in your work!

Your shading is quite good in the clothing, but her skin needs some more defining. Compared to her clothing, it looks almost like you didn't add any shading. I suggest you darken your darks and define your lights.
