What do you think of "concept projects"?

I just wanted to get your thoughts on any compilations or projects with a running theme in the work. For example, what do you think about concept albums? Albums like OK Computer, Pinkerton, and Dark Side Of The Moon? What do you think of my project (which you may not know of)? Discuss.

I adore music with an overlying concept. Coheed and Cambria's albums are a pretty good example of an ongoing continuity, especially since their world also spawned a comic series and novel. I have also read a few of the lyrics from your project and they are seriously awesome!

One thing I love is that a concept unites the fandom even more. Even virtual bands have that appeal; people can write fanfiction for or roleplay the band without feeling totally creepy! (Well. Those would be my thoughts. I know a friend who is planning on RPing 2D from Gorillaz, for example.)

My personal favourites are... uhh, really varied. They include Krankhaus by Angelspit, all about a crazy secret society interested in medical experiments, the final album of Dog Fashion Disco (not really sure if the name would lie well with the moderators, but it is beautiful and you can Google if you really want to know), which tells the tale of the crimes and eventual conviction of a serial killer with dissociative identity disorder. Then there's Haken's 'Aquarius' and 'Visions'; two different concepts from an amazing amazing band. And The Who's 'Quadrophenia', which has an awesome movie adaptation. Uh, in short, I love concept albums.
